Monoprice Half-U UTP Cat5e Patch Panel - 24 Ports - 19 Inch | Dual IDC - SpaceSaver

Bought it to go along with my home network upgrade to work with Unifi UDM Pro SE and a USW 16 Lite switch in a 6U rack mount. This was one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest option I could find, but was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and overall quality. I was even able to fix a broken cable and it worked with a second attempt too.Overall, for my use case, this worked perfectly and more than met my expectations for an inexpensive Cat 6 patch panel.

The half u size is great for saving space, and terminating and dressing the cables is easy with the included ground clamps and cablee tie mounts. The punchdown area has a easily removeable cover which keeps out dust and overall it is very sturdy and does not feel cheap or flimsy. Those complaining about failed connections after multiple terminations dont know what theyre talking about, no professional would re-use a patch panel over and over, any punch down will lose grip on the wire if its been used multiple times, and certainly if 23AWG was punched into it and later 24AWG. Amazon really needs to find some way of rating the qualifications of reviewers, I constantly see products get poor ratings for no other reason than the ignorance of the unqualified and untrained person trying to bumble their way through installng something they have no idea how to use. Any professional knows what works and what doesnt, and you cant watch a youtube video and consider yourself an expert, in fact youre probably more misinformed and unknowledgeable than you were before. There is nothing wrong with this panel, its a great product for the price!

Could be a great product, slim, easy to punch. The cable holder is made of flimsy metal and does not hold, you have to bent it back to hold in it's place. Once the cables are punched it works ok.There are many better products, that cost a bit more.No warranty to product purchased on Amazon, only to those bought on the Monoprice web site, tech support refer you to someone that deals with Amazon buyers, to try exchange the product. Tech support would not help you.

This is really well designed. The photo on the item doesn't show the included wire ties and wire clamps that securely hold the cables in place. Also the cover has simple 1/2 turn 'wing' nuts to remove it so adding wires means unscrew from rack (in my case because of where it is positioned), slip out the back of the rack (easy because the unit isn't very deep), flip the 1/2 nuts with your thumbs, punch down the wire, use the wire tie, and screw down the clamp. Very handy.

From the outside looking in this looks like an extremely well-built product with a lot of nice little extras such as the screw down cable clamps and the zip tie channels.However, I installed 2 of these year one with no issue only to find in year 2 I would need to rearrange the rack, moving cables and panels separately and repunching only to find that more than half of my terminations failed. Going back to the failed punches and trying again resulted in no change; failed integrity check. Additionally, I was quite careful to remove any debris from previous punch whether it be insulation or copper fragments before attempting repunch but to no avail.I can only assume from this experience on the two units that they are rated for 1 punch installations and should be discarded thereafter. This is appalling considering the cost and the subsequent time spent troubleshooting the connectivity problems. Buyer beware.

Item as described. I would recommend and or purchase again if needed.

Was running low on space in my network rack, replaced 2-1u patch panel with two of these. I prefer these over the 1u patch panel because of the cable management in the back, which was a nice surprise.

Very tidy & solid patch panel.Only issue is when you realise that you punched down the wrong colour and need to re-do it. The pins into which one punches the cable seemed to spread apart quite easily. It was necessary to use a screwdriver to bend the pins closer together, such that they would cut through the cable sheath properly on the second punch.

A bit flimsy on the ears but great price for an awesome product. These are critical in any tower or high risk environment. Hard to find them elsewhere.
