Awesome!!!!
Let me start by saying that I'm a begginer astronomer and that these are my first and only binoculars. I bought them so I can watch the stars and the moon on my camping trips. I wanted to start by getting the best 10x50s I could get so my trips would be light and also cause I'm starting getting to know the sky. I researched on every forum and read every review about a ton of binos. At first I was leaning towards some Celestron binos or maybe some other well known brand...but my dad owns a dslr by Nikon and it's reliability cannot be denied...so I bought them. The wait was long because I live in South America and I had to figure out how to import these binoculars, so I was obviously thrilled when they arrived. The product is pretty rugged and sturdy. Nikon makes some excelentent lenses and I was immediately satisfied. Let me carify something before I get to the important part. These aren't heavy nor light...but stand right in the middle. The reason I say this is because when I first looked at the moon, I found trouble to get a steady hold of the binos, so I would really recommend a tripod adapter. If you buy these for any other reason like birdwatching or hunting, I would say that they are light enough, but leaving in the middle of the equator makes it hard to get a steady image. The first night I got them I was astonished observing my city, unfortunately the sky was filled with clouds. As time went by (two long weeks), I saw the moon for the first time since I bought the binos. The sensation was pretty awesome, the image very bright and clear...no collimation...no problems at all, everything was absolutely beautiful. Yesterday was a turning point for me. The sky was clear and I could see around 13 stars with the naked eye. Then, I got my binos and i wouldn't say the sky was filled with stars because there is so much light pollution around here but I dare to say that the numbers of stars I could watch tripled. Then I grabbed my phone and checked on my space app that Jupiter was on clear sight, so I pointed the binos towards the planet and focused the image...BAAAAAAM!!! I couldn't beleive what I was watching. The planet was round. The longer I stared at it the more excited I got.... And then...I could see three of its moons. This blew me away. I can't wait to take this awesome thing to my next camping trip. My only complaint would be that the lenses covers aren't what I expected. They're don't see very sturdy but it also isn't a reason I wouldn't buy them again. I highly recommend this product, Nikon never dissapoints.

It's all about the optics.
I've had several other binoculars at cheaper prices. The most recent was a highly rated 10x roof prism of about $40. But when I tried using it to not just make things look larger, but actually see detail... cheap was just not cutting it. So I got these. The difference is night & day. The cheaper roof prism ones struggled to see house fly sized details at 25 meters. These Nikon porto prism binoculars can see house-fly sized details (and more clearly) at 100 meters. The low light performance is also dramatically better. You can look at craters on the moon with them, and then slide the focus knob a bit, and see a bug crawling on a leaf in the moonlight in the foreground. And porto prisms have naturally better "3D" visuals, since the objective lenses are further apart. These are heavy though, I'd recommend an aftermarket strap. Also, 10x is a bit shakey if you don't rest your elbows on something. I'd say 10x is at the upper limit of usability for hand-held use of binoculars without a rest to stabilize it. One could make an argument for getting these in 8x if you're going to use them by hand in the field a lot. But I like them. Durability seems very solid, though I haven't exactly drop-tested them or anything. The rubberized coating is very securely fitted. The focus knob hasn't become loose with use, like in many cheaper binoculars. Despite the visually purple tint of the objective coatings, color quality is very accurate. If you want more compact and light weight than the 8x version of these, I'd just get a quality monocular instead of binoculars. You're better off sacrificing stereoscopic vision than optical clarity. You get what you pay for. If you want to actually see crisp detail through your binoculars, you're going to need to spend over $100. I can't say how these compare to every brand out there, but I think it would be difficult to significantly out-perform these without a much larger budget. And while roof prisms have made strides in becoming better, AT BEST they can only equal a cheaper porto prism, and with less 3-D visual effect.

quality waterproof binoculars at a reasonable price
Nikon Action EX 10x50 binoculars produce a beautiful, clear image at daylight, dusk or night. They feel solidly-built, weigh a hefty 34.2 oz and are waterproof and fogproof, which adds to the cost. The eyecups twist in for viewing while wearing glasses and twist out for viewing with bare eyes. These have a focusing ring and a diopter ring so you can focus left and right eyes individually. The lens caps can be attached to the included neck strap. These binoculars satisfied my requirement of 10x50 binoculars with good quality optics for beginning astronomy. While Jupiter was at opposition during June 2019, I could see Jupiter and four of its moons with these binoculars, but with my old 7x35 binoculars, I could see only one of the moons. If you don't need 10x magnification, consider the Action EX 7x50 model.

INCREDIBLE OPTICS
Boy, were these a great buy. The NIKON name carries a lot of reputation and weight and this product did not disappoint. These binocs allow me to see incredible detail at long range. I could read license plates on cars close to a mile away. I could see things out on the horizon that I have never noticed despite having lived in the same place for decades. These will be an awesome tool for scouting deer, birdwatching, being a snoopy neighbor, and so much more. Love the Nikon name, the solid construction and feel, the waterproof feature, and even the storage bag. QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY!

Sharp image even at 500 feet
These are high quality glasses!. In my experience, it is rare to actually find a pair of binoculars that work the way they claim. These do! Even looking 500 feet away, these glasses produce a sharp and clear picture. I can read signs and see minute details with no problems. The adjustments to focus are minimal and easy to do - and there are several ways to adjust. I wear eye glasses and using the eye extenders is very helpful so I don't have to keep taking my glasses on and off to look through these binoculars. Remember to twist the eye extenders open and shut - don't pull them up or push them down. The lens covers are tight and attach to the straps so you are less likely to lose them. Although I haven't used these in fog, I have used them in light rain - they clean up wonderfully. The components making up these glasses are tight - no sand, water or dirt is going to get in unless you rub them in it sand or submerge in water - which according to the instructions you can do for up to 5 minutes with no harm. The straps were a little hard to attach but are sturdy and comfortable with a wider neck strap to help ease fatigue. I have not noticed the weight being a detriment at all. I feel these are quite light actually and I hold them with a light touch and could hold them with one hand if needed. The only thing I feel could be improved is if the carrying case also had a carrying strap. There is no way to hold the case when you're using the glasses - which might lead one to easily forget about it and leave it behind. There is a belt loop on the carrying case but I don't wear belts and even if I did I doubt I'd attach such a big item as the case. But I can see how others might do that. However, the makers might think about putting a carrying strap on the case and then in my opinion, these would be perfect - hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommend these to anyone looking for moderately priced binoculars, which focus easy and produce a sharp image. I hope to have these for years to come.

Great pair of binoculars
We are bird watchers and love nature. I have owned several pair of binoculars, the latest I bought many years ago. I had a Bausch-Lomb 7x35 that worked well until I dropped them and got double vision. I also bought a few pair of the cheapo compact binoculars that fit in your pocket. Terrible! I bought the Nikon Action EX 10x50 waterproof. At first they were heavy and were hard to find what I was looking for(narrow field of view). But, as I got used to them I found that I love them. They have plenty of power to see birds at a distance. They focus close enough (about 12 feet) for close observation. They are good at light gathering so are very bright. The girlfriend didn't like them at first. Heavy, bulky to carry and she couldn't zero them in. After a recent trip to the swamps of Florida she decided that she loves them. Very bright and clear and plenty of strength to see what you are looking at. I'm going to look into a better harness to carry them on. But, if you can handle the weight and bulk, they are really good glasses. I am going to have to buy her a pair now.

Outstanding build quality, excellent views.
I am very impressed with these binoculars. The views are sharp and clear with a wide field of view. They are very well built. Sturdy with a rubberized covering. They seem very durable and are listed as waterproof. They eyecups are very well designed and nicely adjustable. Overall one of the most quality pair of binos I’ve seen so far.

Excellent value for the money
I used to have a pair of 80's wide angle Selsi binos, at a time where they were made in Japan. Best binos I've ever had, even copmpared with an older set of Zeiss 7x35's. Somehow I lost them, and needed to replace them. Long story short, based on help from the CloudyNights astro forum I decided to first try the Bushnell Legacy binos. I beleve those were miscollimated at the factory, as the wiews were not very sharp, and at night out of focus stars showed the typical elongation found in misaligned optics. So then I was advised by other forum members to try these Nicon Extreme Action 10x50s. Big difference. Stars are sharp, even the color is better. Looking at the coatings of both binos, looks like the Bushnells have heavier darker coatings. I thought the lighter coatings on the Nikons would affect contrast, but they don't. The contrast is as good if not better than the Bushnells. Also, I can do one thing I can't do with the Bushnells, which is use my glasses. The eye relief on these binos is just right for me to use. Not to say the Bushnells are a bad choice. I believe if they were properly adjusted at the factory they would be much better. But just the eye relief alone makes me bump up the usefulness of the Nikons above the Bushnells, even though they are almost twice the price.

Very clear lens. Great for Stargazing/birds watching & Landscape view
These are great little Binoculars. I got this on deal, was little skeptical while purchasing but was blown away after receiving the product. Absolutely excellent quality especially for the price I have paid for it. Great for Skygazing. Amazing view of Moon, stars clusters in a good dark nights. Highly Recommended.

Review of Nikon 7245 10 x 50 Binoculars
I have been using it for about 6 months. The product that am using is a replacement product as the first one within one day had an issue. I wrote to Amazon who arranged for a quick replacement and without any issue. The product is a very good one especially from a birding perspective. The only demerit is that the focal length is a bit long - so if you are standing very close to a tree where a bird is perched, then there is no way you will be able to have a clear view of the bird. It has to be at a distance. But when you get to focus, it really gives you a very sharp image. I have been able to spot the craters on the moon without difficulty.
