Out of the box this surprised me. Great built, sturdy and I feel confident that it will last even in harsh conditions.
So far so goodThe first word out of my mouth was Whoa! Honestly I was not expecting this. I bought this soft box because my slightly more expensive octobox gave up the ghost so to speak, the frame collapsed on me I had to perform a duct tape repair to keep it open but the moment I opened the Fotodiox Ez-Pro softbox it surprised me. Its built strong and tough, even the frame is strong with a good backing. Just holding it in my hands the weight and durability can be felt. I looked online for a while for a octobox for speelights not wanting to re-purchase another of my failed octobox, If anyone is wondering the Wescott 36" Apollo Orb was the octobox that did not last a year for me.I shoot outdoors in wind, heat, around children and mostly on the beach. I have not used with the Ez-Pro in the field as yet but I will comment once I have. Another thing I like so far is the dual cold shoes. The triggers I often use are relatively long but with the cold shoes I am able to turn the trigger to the side and still have access to the back of the flash. Im liking this more and more.My only concern is the one screw that holds the soft box to the bracket. It seems strong enough but not sure how strong it will be in the field. Other than that I see nothing else wrong with this octobox, I'm considering purchasing other modifiers from Fotodiox as they have impressed me literally out of the box

Great Softbox for a great price
Great product. Fit nicely on a standard light stand. The 2 cold shoes worked great. The flash was setup on one while the wireless trigger was setup on the second one.Like most reviews said it was a little hard to close, I had to use a pair a of pliers to get leverage but I would rather it be harder to close so that it can maintain the tension.Used it on my portrait photoshoot and it worked out great.

Excellent purchase!
I've recently been requested by many of my friends to do their senior portraits. Coincidentally, I've been looking into getting a softbox on top of a few speedlights. The order came in quick and really easy to set up. The diffusion that came from it was just great to fulfill my needs; soft light bounced onto my subjects. I think my only issue was just connecting the softbox onto the stand and using an Allen wrench to ensure it is connected. Maybe it's just that my Allen wrench was a bit too short but it was nonetheless too much of a big issue. It's great, durable, and easy to put away!

Good lighting but mount issues
The softbox itself does a great job with lighting. It worked great during a recent shoot. The problem is that the screw that holds the mount in place comes loose very easily. It's also in a very difficult location to tighten. During the shoot it came loose and it was hard to hold the softbox in place. I couldn't leave it on a light stand because it would just fall to the side. If you don't keep the wrench handy then you can't even fix it.

Two and a half stars?
The Octabox is great, nice light, easy set up etc. The hardware is less than inspired. Very crude, lots of sharp edges, and it feels like the threads on the stand clamp are about to strip. One small hex bolt is all that holds the Octabox to the mounting bracket which seems a bit optimistic, but we'll see.The box itself gets a solid four stars, the hardware somewhere between a one and a two.Compared to the pricing of similar products, it's hard to say if it's a bargain or not. Only time will tell.As always, the service on Amazon was stellar.JD

... not hold my flash as tightly as I would like so it keeps falling out
The problem I face is the screws and clamps tend to not hold my flash as tightly as I would like so it keeps falling out, i had to super glue a rubber guard to limit the movement. Also, the one main screw that attaches the octa to the base doesn't stay tight with a little wind knocking it about it loosens up and forces you to retighten and accessibility to tighten is difficult due to my large hands.

love this softbox but it's small
this softbox is flawless, my only issue with it is its size. Otherwise it is well built and is an outstanding addition to my collection.

Nice Softbox but awkward..."Opps I said it again!"
The Fotodiox EZ-Pro Flash Softbox is a really nice piece of equipment and is solidly constructed. However it is very awkward to put together, not hard just awkward. I do 100% of my shooting on location so a fast set up is essential. The little nut that attaches softbox to speedring is very clumsy to attach, I have big hands and for once that does not help. I could only imagine trying to set this thing up on a client site, it would be sloooooooooooooooowwwww...Anywho, its a nice softbox for anyone who only has to set it up once, but for someone on the go it is a pain in the "tuckas!" Oh and if you lose that little bolt this softbox is useless.Ultimately I sent it back.
