Sharpener Par Excellence!
A classic favorite. Used it on my traditional high-quality Finnish fish filet knife. Sharpened my knife's long, slender, finely-wrought blade to professional sharpness. A treat!

Easy to carry Economical sharpener
Great compact sharpener for touching up kitchen, hunting, and fillet knives. I wouldn't use it to try to bring back a very dull knife. Would use a belt sharpener or coarse stone for that. I like to carry in my pocket and tough up knives when skinning and butchering deer. Good price too, less than I saw it for at Scheels.

worth having around
It definitely seems to work, makes knives sharper. Is compact if you want to take it camping. I sometimes get nervous, and nervous about whether or not it is getting the Tip of the knife sharpened as you try to rotated the knive at the tip as you are pulling it through. It is extra work to try and do smoothly in one pass. this would be a "problem" of all knife sharpeners with the design of holding the sharpener down on a base and then pulling the knive through. But it is not expensive, is light weight and compact and my knives cut better after being pulled through both sides several times. You need to hold it firmly. Its size demands that.

Love This Little Knife Sharpener!
Works great so far. Not sure how many knives it will be able to sharpen but very happy with the product and the price was right.

This contraption actually works
This dual stage sharpener is very simple and easy to use and actually works quite well. I use this to sharpen my pocket knives and my filet knife, I've sharpened a couple kitchen knives also and all of them turned out sharp enough to slice right through a sheet of paper. I took this on a recent camping trip, put it in my tackle box and used it a few times. I whittled some tree branches with my pocket knife, used this lil' dandy to sharpen it and later on I cut my steak with it. I used it to sharpen my Rapala filet knife, even though it was almost razor sharp out of the box, and then I filleted the hell out of some trout. Chopped the head and tail, right through bone and all and it was effortless, thanks to my lil' dandy. My only complaint is it can be a slight challenge to draw the knife through squarely each time, if you aren't careful you'll have a slightly different angle when drawing and thereby possibly diminish the edge you want to achieve. It there were some sort of guide which allowed for thicker or thinner blades, that would be helpful. But hey, life ain't perfect so just deal with it, I didn't find that this drawback made any tangible difference in the performance of my knives once sharpened. Bottom line; small and perfect for camping, quick and easy to use, works like a champ.

Feels Like Cheating vs. a Traditional Sharpening Stone ... But Works!
I understand that some people prefer to sharpen their knives and other cutting tools with a sharpening stone, and that's great. But my problem is that I can seldom get a very sharp edge with a stone. I'm just not good at it. In addition, a stone is something that's hard to carry with you. I've found that while it may be considered cheating by some purists, when compared to the method of using a traditional sharpening stone, this lightweight sharpener puts a great edge on my knives every single time. Plus, it's light and can be easily carried in my pocket. So for me, what's not to like about it? SIMPLE 2-STEP DIRECTIONS ➙ start with the carbide side of the sharpener; hold it upright and pull your blade back through 3-6 times, depending on how dull and scuffed up your blade is ➙ then flip the sharpener over and finish it up with the ceramic side of the tool That's all there is to it. Be very careful not to place your finger under the blade as it goes through, as it will slip down at the end of each pass. Note that fat axe blades may not fit through here, and it can be hard to sharpen some tools like clippers with one of these. However, most blades can go right through the gap. I've used it on tactical knives, hunting knives, and kitchen knives. ................. This product was NOT given to me as part of any promotion. I bought it after doing some comparison shopping and this review is entirely the result of my own opinions and use of the product.

Best handy sharpener ever!
I bought this for my travel trailer to have a small handy sharpener on hand to keep my knives sharp. I love sharp knives! I've got diamond hones, water stones, steel rods and of all them, this is hands down my favorite sharpening system. I mostly use the ceramic rods with 5 passes every 3-4 times I use a knife and it keeps the edge nice and sharp. If I ever get a nick or the blade isn't sharpening with the ceramic rod, then I switch to the metal rods and do 5-10 passes (until it feels smooth) then do the ceramic side about 5 times and it's back to super sharp again.

Seems to work fine.
