The external layer does not seem to be dirty, but it seems to be the goose duvet ...
There seems to be a production issue with the mid-layer. I just bought a brand new one by amazon. It has many black spots (especially close to the sewings) everyone. The external layer does not seem to be dirty, but it seems to be the goose duvet filling that is black inside. I have seem a similar issue with a previous comment with a yellow color. Because of that, it looks super dirty and not clean, even if it is brand new. I wrote to Arc'teryx customer support today about that to get it exchanged. This is not normal to get something like that from a High-End company such as Arc'teryx.

Very nice and crazy-light jacket
Very nice and crazy-light jacket, fits perfectly even the hood. The color is nice. It's very warm, I have been wearing just this with a t-shirt under it and it stays toasty even at night 15-20ยฐF with wind. What is just as nice, you don't have to take it off indoors, it doesn't get too warm... I think this is part of the magic of having real goose down (I've never had a real down jacket before). I used to have an under armour parka from 2009 or so that had some extra gimmicks on it (ipod controller, avalanche beacon, etc) it was outrageously expensive, weighed 50 gazillion pounds, and wasn't even all that warm without some extra layers. This is well built, it came in a bag sealed from the factory with tags, no feathers falling out like some other people have complained about (this one is definitely not counterfeit). Not a single stitch out of place. The man at the store said it isn't really waterproof, and recommended a shell to wear over it if it's raining like the Beta LT... hmmm, maybe next year... but I'll just keep my old coat for bad weather or stay inside for now. Some people have been complaining about the fit, I tried this on at the Denver Arcteryx store first and it fits true to size (at least the L, I'm 6'2", 200lbs). It isn't too tight in the chest or too baggy in the abs area like some other down coats I tried (e.g. TNF, Patagonia) which were seemingly cut perfectly square from neck to hip. Sleeves aren't too short either, but just right. The amazon price of this piece was nearly half retail too good of a deal to pass up however I did get some basics there (hoodie, tshirt). Also Arcteryx is based in Vancouver BC, speaking as an expat it's nice to support a Canadian company.

Jacket seems nice, but does run pretty short
Jacket seems nice, but does run pretty short. Otherwise, my discontent lies within the construction of the zippers. I understand a low-profile size looks nice, but make it a little stronger. I first tried on the jacket and grabbed the pocket zipper and off came the tab piece and it actually broke through the metal ring that holds the tab in place. For as expensive as this is and for the reputation of high quality, it does not live up to the hyper whatsoever.

Do NOT BUY - Sheds Feathers Everywhere
I should have listened to the reviews. While this jacket is very warm, it constantly sheds feathers. I contacted Arc'teryx and they suggested for me to push the feathers back in. Pushing the feather back in is a silly idea. Some of these feathers are TINY. And the large ones are impossible to push back in.

runs small compared to other arcteryx
I was considering buying this jacket I found it at a local store and went and tried it on and it was in xxl and barely zipped. I have another arteryx jacket that is in the same size and is very roomy I wanted something a bit warmer and love the brand but was disappointed that the cut on this one is very fitted. I ended up with a marmot jacket instead. Glad I tried it on first it saved me the hassle of a return.

The Arcteryx came today and it fits perfect. I'm 5 11 and 210lbs and it fits ...
I ordered the Arcteryx Cerium LT as well as a Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer. The Ghost Whisperer was gigantic in XL so I returned for a L. It's not here yet so we'll see. The Arcteryx came today and it fits perfect. I'm 5 11 and 210lbs and it fits nice and snug so I can layer a hard shell over the top in wet conditions. The fit and finish is excellent and it feels only marginally heavier than the Ghost Whisperer. I am stationed in Germany where it gets pretty cold and am very happy with this rig. Too warm to wear yet but that will change very soon. It's replacing a NF Super Diez that I loved but didn't have a hood. I'll post a review on the MH Ghost Whisperer when it comes in, then decide if my wallet can afford to keep both.....

Super warm, tough as nails
Super warm, tough as nails, fits trim and athletic. With one of Arcteryx's fleece pullovers underneath, it will keep you warm into the lower twenties. With a SV Jacket for wind and rain protection, this system cannot be beat. Expensive gear but worth it

Arc'teryx style and quality.
The Arc'teryx Cerium fills the gap between a zeus and a nano puff perfectly. Not too light, and not too bulky. Perfect for a fast and light set up under a shell. Perfect for around town. The best of all worlds, just as you would expect.
