Really people??? If you don't know your Oakley product...
Maybe you should not be writing product reviews for others to consider??? As a loyal and true Oakley owner (12+ years) I can only state what I know to be "FACTS", that can and should be verified with Oakley, before making a comment. In this case let's consider the product you are considering... They are not just "8 tiny pieces of rubber", each piece of the earsock and nose pieces are not rubber they are Unobtainium®, a proprietary Oakley synthetic that maximizes comfort while increasing grip with perspiration. They are made to fit tightly to the Half Jacket frame which gives them the superior hold Oakleys are known for having... let's face it if Oakleys lost their shape and fell off everytime you looked down, looked up or moved your head in the slightest we would not love them so much!. It has been my experience most improper fittings are due to mistaking the Half and Flak Jacket frames, althought simular they are not interchangeable (and you'll have extra pieces). That being said, I agree the replacement pieces can be a pain to put on; but after a few wears you can tweek the pieces into a more comfortable alignment. Finally... Pricing is the exact same as Oakley.com, so you can feel assured this item (by Amazon sellers) is not over priced. Oakley has now updated the Half Jackets to the HJ 2.0, so if you are like me and cherish your beloved HJ's you may want to stock up on a few replacement socks while the getting is good :} Good Luck and thank you for taking time to read my product review.

Perfect for for Oakley Half Jackets
Short version: Cheap, OEM kit that is well worth the price to rejuvenate older Oakley Half Jackets. Long Version: The parts in this kit were an exact, OEM replacement for the Oakley Half Jacket subglasses that I purchased about seven +/- years ago. I would recommend removing the lenses, taking all the parts that you wish to replace off, and then washing the frame and lenses with a non - abrasive dish soap. Be sure to clean out the groves where the lenses snap in as well. Dry them off with a clean, soft cotton or other cloth specifically meant for cleaning optics. (Please, never, ever use a kleenex for this! They are too abrasive...) As other reviewers have already mentioned, you'll need some sort of lubricant to get them to slide on. Isopropyl Alcohol does work quite well and leaves nothing to clean off - though I must admit to having a minor concern about what it might do to whatever these are made out of. Even if it does, this kit is cheap enough that I can take another stab at it with something else. In my case, I had a full bottle of alcohol, so I just dipped the entire arm into the bottle. It worked great. Don't worry about using too much - it'll evaporate. I highly recommend purchasing this kit.

They fit my sunglasses like they were the original ones with no extra work to put them on.

Fit like a glove
These fit my Half Jackets perfectly. The long ear pieces are kinda tough to get on, but I used a little vaseline and it helped. Just have to work them real slow or you risk snapping your frames. It's also easier if you remove the earpiece from the front frame at the joint (where the screw would be if it had screws). I really just got these for the nose pieces, but it's nice having all new rubber pieces on there.

Oakley - Oakley Sunglass Half Jacket Nose Kit
I was going to get some generic ear/nose socks, but decided to get the real Oakley socks for my 3 older Oakley Half Jacket XLJ. This is what I did to replace the socks without tearing it or breaking the frame. First of all, gather your Windex, Gorilla Glue, a toothpick, and a half sheet of paper towel. Remove the old torn or worn socks. Spray a little of Windex inside the socks, starting with the small socks by the temple. Rub the excess Windex that is on your fingers onto the frame's ear piece, especially at the end tip. Gently slid the temple sock onto the ear piece, add a little bit of Windex on the ear piece as needed. Your fingers will be slippery from the Windex, so use the paper towel to hold the frame and ear piece. Sliding on the long ear sock is a little bit tougher...spray Windex inside the long ear sock from both ends. Gently slide the long ear sock about a half inch at a time...adding more Windex as needed. The sock will tend to hang up on the tip of the ear piece, so be sure to straighten it up each time before proceeding...this will prevent tears to the sock. Be very careful not to bend the ear piece too much and possibly snap the frame...it is not a time to show how strong you are. Add more Windex to the frame as needed. The kit comes with two sets of nose pieces, a smaller one for prominent noses and a larger one for flatter noses. And yes, one piece is for the right side and one piece for the light side. If you look closely at the nose piece, the wider side is what will touch your nose. After you remove the old nose pieces, use a toothpick to clean out the old yellowish glue, and wipe with the same paper towel. To attach the nose piece, with the same toothpick, apply a little bit of Gorilla Glue to the inside of the nose piece. Hook the lower (larger) end of the piece first...now push up and stretch the upper end of the nose piece until it hooks on. Gently re-position the nose piece...and I mean gently because any slight wiggle will cause it to come off, which is why so many of us end up losing a nose piece or two through normal use. Carefully wipe off any excess glue with the same damp paper towel. Allow the glue to dry for 15 minutes or longer. Briefly rinse the sunglasses in cool water and wipe dry with microfiber wipe. Why buy real Oakley socks? I find the generic ones tend to be softer and not as sturdy as the Oakley.

Nice Oakley Replacement Kit
I lost a nose pad and wanted an authentic replacement. This kit replaced all the rubber pieces on my Oakley Halfjackets and fit perfectly. As others have stated, finding just the nose pads would have been nice but honestly all the pieces were old enough that they needed to be replaced. The kit came in an Oakley box and appears to be a legitimate Oakley replacement. The only thing that made me question that was the lack of a USA stamp on one of the longer pieces. Regardless, everything fits and looks great. My Oakleys just keep on going.

Original passt halt am besten. Die neue Gummis drauf zu bekommen ist zwar ein bissl zäh. Ein bisschen Spüli hilft ungemein und kann wieder abgewaschen werden.

Tricky to get on, but they work a treat, and much cheaper than the Oakley product
