WoneNice Portable Small Fan & Mini-air Conditioner, Runs On Batteries Or USB-Blue

Let me first explain why I purchased this product. My mother was born with Hypothyroid Disease which causes many things to go wrong on her body, chief among those for her being heat sensitivity. If it's 80 degrees outside, her body will think it's 100 and it will cause her to get dehydrated and feel dizzy among other symptoms. This results in her having to stay indoors with the AC blowing at full power all day and all night long. One day, I have a curious thought. "I wonder if anyone has invented a mini AC device that's portable to help my mother..." So I decided to go on Amazon and type "Mini AC" to see if anything like that existed. Lo and behold... This device appears. I read the reviews and see that some are rather mixed to bad about this product. However, for around $14 at the time of purchase, there was very little to lose if this didn't work, but a whole lot to gain for my mother if this really did work as advertised. Let me tell you, I don't think I've ever seen my mother so happy with one of my gifts for her. This didn't just work well for her needs... It worked amazing! I tried this myself by following the instructions and it really does blow very cold air so long as there's not too much humidity in the air. This allows her to lower the central AC and keep cool wherever she goes now. Thank you, WoneNice, for making such a useful product to help my mom's health!

I didn't expect much from this for what I paid but I am thoroughly impressed! The fan is strong for its small size and not too loud. The air is definitely cooler and feels great. I love that it runs on batteries or USB cable. I can save the batteries for when I'm on the go and use the USB cable at home and work. No more constantly fanning and drawing attention to myself, yay! I'm buying more of these for my family who are all hot like me ;) Edit (8/28/14): so I did end up buying two more of these (from a different seller) and they were noticeably different than the first one I got. The cord was white instead of black, the sponge was smaller and thinner, and the battery door won't close securely. But the fan was adjustable from low to high, where the first one was not - it's just on or off (but I'd keep it on full blast anyway so I don't need it to be adjustable). Both work best on batteries vs the USB cord, the air flow is much stronger with batteries. So it seems they are not all made from the same manufacturer even though they look very much alike. They all work great, though!

Well I thought this was going to be my answer to sitting in a hot car in Florida. It was working fine and using the USB but then it stopped working. I really didnt bet much time to use it because it failed. I wanted to contact the seller but too much time had passed by the time I got around to it. I still gave it 3 stars because I may have just gotten a bad unit and that isn't the fault of the seller. I really wish I could replace it but I should have acted sooner. Hopefully you will have better success than I have had with it. **I received this product for a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review**

Wow, this thing is a piece of junk. I followed the watering instructions precisely, yet as soon as I turned it on, it started spitting water at me. I figured and hoped it was just some water off the top, so I laid it flat on the table while I waited. A few times, I had to check it to see if it was still blowing at all, because the fan is sooo wimpy. It was still on. After an hour, or so, I picked it up, thinking the excess water must have all sprayed out by now, and it started pouring water all over me, so I set it back down, while it resumed spitting water at me. Even if I could ignore the water problem, this is barely even a working fan. If you want to be sprayed with water and then fanned off, those water spray bottles with attached fan nose work much better than this, and are cheaper. So not worth the price (it's about $11 right now). I would probably buy something like this at Grocery Outlet for $4.99. And I would still return it.

It's amazing how well such a simple design works. It works best in lower humidity climates and in an air conditioned environment for additional cooling. It won't work well in high humidity. The sliding control on the side does not adjust the airflow at all. It doesn’t output as strong on USB as it does with batteries. There is a slight design flaw: When the unit is upright, the air is pulled through the top. The entire back is open, so the air comes straight through the top half, drying the top half of the sponge first. Since the air is coming through the top, it looses most of its effectiveness once the top half of the sponge is dry. If the top half was closed, forcing the air to come in the bottom and up through the sponge, it would dry the sponge more evenly.

The cool air condensation concept does not work here in humid Florida, and I knew that buying this. I just thought for the price it was worth a test run to try the fan. The fan is not bad, but it is quite bulky and didn't sit right when I tried to hang it around my neck.Hanging it around my neck is the only way that i am able to have the fan blowing on my face/neck while running around with occupied hands at work.

I had bought the battery powered air misters for our walks out in the hot summer days for about $9.99 and saw this portable mini air conditioner for nearly the same price. So, I bought one to try it out. When walking in 100 degree weather, this little a/c gadget keeps me cool and makes me feel that I'm walking in my own personal air conditioned bubble. I usually keep it close to my face and neck area (and sometimes in my top) to cool down. For an extra treat, I aim in on my scalp and feel the cool air. Now, I've tried this is in spaces where the a/c is low and it blows out super cold air which is so nice. People look at me with interest and when they feel the cold air, they immediately tell me they want one. It gets HOT out here and this has definitely helped. The Mini-Air Conditioner has totally replaced the air misters and I always have it packed in my purse now.

I'm not sure why anyone is giving this product a less than 5 star rating. For the low price, this product is an absolute steal. I'm extremely sensitive to heat, and this fan has been a lifesaver for me during the summer. It really feels like an air conditioner. I'm going to be bringing it with me when I travel next because the airplanes get so hot and stuffy, and this product will really come in handy then. It's so simple and easy to use. You just wet the sponge and re-insert. I've actually been freezing my sponges, and I notice that the air is even cooler when I do that. I bought one for both of my little nieces and they've been really happy with theirs as well. The size is perfect for bringing it along in your handbag. My fiance can even fit it in some of the pockets of his shorts. It's very lightweight, and from what I can tell, it's of great quality and will last us many years. I've been recommending it to everyone I know.
