Sony Clie PEG-SJ22 Handheld

Great product. The screen resolution is the best of all same priced palms. I've been wearing it for over a year and I din't run out of power yet. Most color devices last for just a day or two. I use it to keep and get contacts, appointments, my children's photos (showing them everyone proudly with photo quality resolution ;-). I also use it playing puzzles and action games waiting and spending time in cabs, buses, and everywhere I need to keep entertained. That way I get my Clie powered without charge for 4 or 5 days. I've been out for hollidays and forgot the charger. Using it a very few times to get some phones, it remained operable for 19 days! and arrived back home without loosing anything. With 33 Mhz, the processor could be faster (when I run an integral calculation in a scientific calculator downloaded for free, it gets 6 seconds to get the result), but no other device would offer more power for the price. The weakness? Infrared port is weak. While a Tungsten can deliver Ir signal from many feet distance, the Clie SJ22 needs to be closer than 2 feet (forget using it as a TV remote ;-) Other cons: No service in Argentina for Sony Clie, and this version of Palm OS does not include Argentina as a country option at the setup!!!!!! (Don't know later versions). Anyway, chosen Brasil as my country :-( I din't need yet any service for my Clie thanks God (and Sony of course) Conclusion: You have a lot of money? Go and buy any plane-like device (of course there are better devices in the market). You have JUST this money? Don't think about it. Go and buy one Sony Clie SJ22.

I bought the Clie SJ22 (uses Palm OS 4.1) so I could install a bible reader, bible translations and reference materials and read and study wherever I go. To have so much power in such a compact size makes it the perfect tool for carrying reading material when you are away from the comforts of home. The 15 megabytes of available memory provide enough room for several translations, reference books and a very large address book. With the addition of a memory stick... well, there are a ton of apps out there and many are free. Replacement batteries are also available here on Amazon.com if you should need one DekCell PDA Battery for Sony Clie PEG-SJ20, SJ22, SJ23, SJ30, SJ30/G, SJ30/GW... . The display is sharp, clear, well lit and therefore easy to read. I highly recommend it. The only con that I can think of... not all memory sticks will work with this unit. Any memory stick over 128MB is not compatible. Still, they are available online and that's more than enough memory for whatever you might want to do.

I'm sorry I bought this product - it does not have the capability to retain your info when the battery runs low - I actually have had to reput my info in every time my battery ran low and I didn't catch it in time - my charger cords does not stay attached to the device properly - it's just a mess - I still have to repurchase another organizer.

The Palm Sony Cle PEG-SJ22 keeps all me appointments and Phone book near at hand and backs everything on my computer and prints out a hard copy to carry aroud in my briefcase for easy reference

I have used the calender for years and thought the hand held would be even better but could not get it to work. Still trying and I think it is good but old technology

Obsolete for this era, however, it is a great PDA if you want the very basics (it dos not have Wifi)

This was a replacment for an old Clie that I had. I was unable to Sync my info into the new one but seller stood behind the product and sent me another Clie'. It works like a charm!
