Chaco Kids' ZX1 Ecotread Athletic Sandals

I purchased the Chaco ZX1 Ecotread Sandal for a trip I was going on last summer. I am an adult who chose to buy children’s sandals because they are a little bit cheaper. I wear a size 5-5.5 in women and the 4M fit me perfectly. I would recommend this shoe for any adult whose feet are small enough to buy children’s shoes, but I would also recommend these shoes to parents who are looking to find their children durable and supportive sandals. Arch Support The arch support on these shoes are great, it made my foot feel like I was wearing a tennis shoe. My feet did not start to ache quickly like they do when someone wears flip-flops. I could walk all day in these shoes and my arches would not be aching. Straps You can adjust the straps to fit your feet perfectly. Once the straps are adjusted the shoes will fit that way unless you adjust them again. The only thing about the straps that was a bit challenging was that the side strap is long for me after adjustment. I do not mind that the strap is a little long because I just tuck it in when I put them on. I would wear these shoes in just about every situation because I know that they are secure on my feet. The design of the straps gives my feet a lot of air, and they do not get too hot on a summer day. Durability These shoes are very durable no matter where you are wearing them. They have a thick rubber bottom that has a lot of traction. They grip the ground extremely well and they are thick enough that if you would step on a sharp rock or glass you would not even feel it on the bottom of your foot. I wore the shoes everyday this past summer and they still look brand new. There is not a lot of wear and tear that happened because they are made well. Versatility I wore them in a lot of different environments, and they were great in every situation. I wore these shoes to the beach and would sometimes wear them into the water. The Chaco’s were easy to wear on the beach because of the back strap that held them onto my feet. I also took them hiking, and I did not regret the decision to wear the sandals over tennis shoes. They stayed on my feet well because of the design, and they also have great traction on the bottom of the shoe so I was never worried I would lose my footing. Up-Keep These shoes are easy to clean up if you get them dirty. They dry extremely quickly if you happen to get them wet. When they were dirty I would hose them off and could wash them with soap. Overall, I have compared these sandals to other outdoor sandals that my sister’s have and I think these ones are the best. I am definitely going to be buying another pair for this upcoming summer. This is such a great product and I am excited for it to warm up again outside, so I can start wearing my Chaco’s.

Love these sandals. Great fit. Excellent for hiking steep trails, walking in the beach & paddling rocky shores. Wore them daily for a week in Belize zip lining, river rafting, to the beach, out for dinner. My favorite sandals.

Recently I went to Europe and Israel for 3 weeks. I had always heard that Chacos are amazing so I bought these and only brought these on the trip. I brought no other shoes including flip flops or tennis shoes! These suited my needs so perfectly; you might want something fancier for somewhere like Italy but they were amazing for walking. I went to St. Peter's Basilica/Vatican City and my feet didn't hurt when everyone else's did. They were also perfect for hiking in Switzerland (I added socks lol) and going through Hezekiah's tunnel in Israel. The only thing I couldn't wear them for was inside the Dead Sea because of all the mud, you couldn't really wear shoes. For everything else we did they were perfect, comfy, water, tennis shoes that were shaped like sandals and waterproof. They also looked great with every outfit and were so comfortable. I also wore these on 8 planes. Recently I also went to Dollywood and they were perfect for every ride, especially the water ones. They stayed on perfectly when I rode horses as well. Would recommend these for any summer adventure.

I bought these Chacos in size 4 Big Kid from Amazon as they were covered by Prime Shipping, and unfortunately they were too small for my 7W feet. No problem, I returned them for free (I love Prime!). I found the same sandals in the right size on another website for a much better price and bought them there, so here's the review. First of all, if you are a woman and wear size 7, you can totally go for a size 5 Big Kid, and, if you like having a little room, maybe a size 6 Big Kid should fit well, too. I like Chacos beacause you can adjust them as you like, even if your feet are not exactly identical. It might take a little bit of time to find the right adjustment (for those who are not familiar with these sandals, you can find Yourtube tutorials on how to adjust them effectively, and there are instructions pictured inside the box, too). The sole is not stiff, so you can wear them right out of the box without any break-in needed. In my case, I had to "educate" my feet to appreaciate the phenomenal arch support - being used to flat sneakers made my feet react with a little pain at first, but I'm now wearing them every day with no problem. As for the style, I would not wear them at a fancy dinner, but they look very nice with tight jeans - in other words, they don't necessarily giving the impression you're about to go for a hike. Finally, these look very sturdy, so unless you want to buy more than one pair, pick the color wisely, as these definitely look like they'll last a looooong time :)

I'm writing an early review and will update later on comfort/durability. My family is going on a little trip to Branson so I've been hunting for just the right shoes that would be not only comfortable for walking around all day, but also to get wet in. I ordered myself and my 7 year old daughter a pair of chacos and my 3 boys got Tevas. I struggled with choosing a size when ordering. Some reviews say to order down a size, some say true to size and others swear by ordering up. I wear a women's 8 so I bought my chacos in an 8 and they are a perfect fit! That being said, my daughter wears a children's size 2 so that's what I ordered. Yeah......no. They were way to big on her. There was no way to even adjust them tight enough to make them work. I returned them and reordered a size 1. They will be here Friday and I'm praying for a better fit because I wanted us all to have time to break them in well before we left to make sure they didn't leave blisters. I will say, the quality was excellent. They were the same as mine as far as quality and adjustability. The Tevas I ordered for my boys won't be here until Saturday so my fingers are crossed for them. They have similar mixed reviews on sizing. Why does it have to be so hard??

Love these shoes, Chacos are so durable and high quality, I will recommend them to anyone. This color is super cute, especially in the summertime with more tan skin. I am a size 7 in women’s, and the size 5 in kids fit me great. I hike them, swim in them, boat in them, and they work great for about any summer activity you could think of.

I wear a size 7w in chacos and wanted to try on the kids size 5 to see if they were the same fit. (Heard they were) and they are! I’m so happy I decided to go for it. Half the price and I got a fun color I’ve been searching for. The base is thinner/lighter than the women’s but the straps were easier to adjust. They are super comfortable like my 7w chacos. I’m very pleased. Yussss!
