Quality discs....Great Printables
Memorex is a love it or hate it brand. Despite its well known brand name. Some people have horrible results with it. Others have terrific results. Like everyone else says. Make sure your recorders can handle memorex media. Verify your discs after burning to be certain. If they burn ok. Then you shouldn't have a problem with them.I was very happy with the print quality as well. Not only is it hub printable. Printing all the way from the hole to the outer edge of the disc. But it also retains the ink very well. I used to use Verbatim printables and they would smear very easily. These do not thankfully. They retain the ink well. I use them with a Espon Stylus Photo R380. People are very impressed by the quality of the print it makes with these.I love them, I'll stick with them. Great item11/16 update:just to add the ink retains well for standard printable discs. That does not mean its waterproof such as 'watershield' or 'aquashield' or the variables that exist. If your hands are wet enough and you make the effort. They can smear. But unlike previous standard printables I've used, smearing requires more moisture for it to occur. I just don't want anyone to buy these thinking they are 100% smear-proof. They are not. For that you'll want the more expensive premium printable discs such as Watershield or Aquashield. Those you can submerge into water, and they won't smear.

How Can You Tell?
There's been a great deal of discussion about the life span and quality of these and other disks here in comments, although interestingly, I've found far fewer when looking for them on the Internet. This seems to have been an issue a few years ago and less so now. I ordered and received in good order two 100 DVD spindles and immediately backed up a large number of photographic images to 100 of them before printing. There were no errors and the printing went well.I'm wondering if some of the problems have to do with the age and quality of the DVD printers and readers people are using. I have a Lacie Firewire external burner, replacing one that had recently failed, and the hundred I immediately recorded were done on this unit. I have other much older DVD readers that are occasionally unable to read a particular file (CRC errors), but find they're readable on a newer device.I have no other comments other than to say these DVD's recorded and printed without error, they were quite a bargain and I have no complaints. I don't know if the fact I was recording image files (RAW files and PhotoShop PSD's) as opposed to video or music files made any difference, but I'm not sure why they would.

Printable DVD Media
These are Memorex recordable DVD-R media with a printable surface for printing labels directly on the media. I have only used a few so far in a new EPSON Artisan 810 and they seem to work fine. You have to burn and verify the media, then insert the media into the printer to print the label. Not much to say about features and the like, they seem to work well and so far I have not had any data read/write errors when burning a data disc. Other reviews indicated a fair amount of rejects when creating discs in volume, but I have had no problem with the few that I do for archiving data files. Delivery was prompt and packaging was good. They seem to be a quality product that I would recommend to others.

Perfect for printing on and backup up files.
I am a photographer and back up my photos weekly on disk. When I sell images on a disk to my customer, I like to print one of their photos and name and date on their DVD. This pack of DVD's allows me to do just that with my Canon MG8220 printer. There is a DVD adapter that slides into my printer and I am able to print on the DVD after I burn the images onto the disk. These DVD's look professional when printed on and I have not had any bad disks thus far. I will purchase these again.

damaged in shipping
I have used the Memorex printables for several Amazon orders and usually have little or no problem with the discs. The last shipment was from the "other sellers" catagory because Amazon was unfortunately out of stock. Consequently the "other seller" was B&H photo/video. Their price was high but they had them. The discs came with a smashed and broken plastic spindle container that obviously was not packed well enough to survive the handling by the trucking company. I had to take all the discs and transfer them to my previously purchased spindle container. The discs seem ok. Just a hassle. B&H should ship more carefully. My previous purchase came from another "other seller": ANTonline, and it arrived in perfect condition. Watch out for poor shipping when ordering from B&H.

Difficult to find in Retail Stores
The Printable surface allows you to print on it with the aid of the HP Photosmart 5280 or a like type printer which has a special tray that will hold the DVD in place. This allows any photograph that you have to print on the circular surface. One note it that If you want something to be a picture of a person, you should take the picture so that the subject is off to the side. That way when the printer gets to the hole you do not lose the part of the picture that you want. Also these DVD's have the smallest hole with printable media surface as close to the center as is possible. Better than other brands.

great DVDs...poor packaging
DVDs work just fine, I didn't find any to be bad. However, the packaging was horrible. I thought I would give it a try even though others had stated poor packaging, but they were not kidding! Not only was the spindle just thrown in a box, but the spindle had opened up and DVDs were everywhere. For this reason I gave it 3 stars and personally, its best just to make a trip to Sams Club where they have extremely affordable DVDs.Also Note: although the white coat goes all the way to the center...there is a DISTINCT color difference where the normal clear plastic is. Doesn't bother me, but if it bothers you don't buy these.
