DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: St. Petersburg

We have bought DK Eyewitness travel guides for trips to Turkey, Italy, France, and now Russia and have never been disappointed. I am a visual learner and the pictures, maps and three dimensional illustrations really help me to decide where I want to go and what I want to see, and they provide great reminders of trips taken. I'm reading R K Massie's biographies of Peter the Great and Catherine the Great and the DK guides really help to visualize all that Peter and Catherine built, and DKs history and explanations provided are accessible and accurate.Their only downside is that the books are too heavy to carry around, but that is the price you pay for the glossy photos and illustrations.

I travel extensively throughout the world and the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides are extremely helpful. Great for advance research to determine how best to spend your time and amazing to follow the suggested walking tours. Pictures and details are well laid out and easy to use. Maps are extremely helpful. Allows you to make the most of your limited time in cities or countries. Getting ready to order Switzerland.

DK Eyewitness are my favorite in-depth guides to any city or region, and this guide measures up. The detailed layouts of neighborhoods, church interiors, museum entrances and galleries plus thorough descriptions makes it easy to pre-visit an area and decide what to see. We will be visiting St Petersburg next August and would like to know what to plan for and expect.

Like all the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides the one on St. Petersburg is an excellent guide to this beautiful city.... the maps and pictures are a great help so visitor knows what to expect. Seller delivered book on time and in perfect condition, as advertised. Based on my experience, I would recommend both seller and book.

An excellent source of information which you can use for planning your trip long before you arrive. A wealth of information on culture, locations, events, with an excellent breakdown by areas. Suggested foot tours are provided, and the street maps are fantastic, giving street names in two languages.

All the usual photos, maps, dialogue, cut-away diagrams which make DK the best travel guides in the game. One simply does not need any more than their usual offerings, unless you are moving permanently to a location and then you might want something with grocery stores, service stations and other shops.

DK travel books are great for planning your travel since they have good pictures and maps. They are also great travel companions, helps you through your trip with walking maps and star sights. I always have a DK book with me when I travel.

As usual the DK Eyewitness guides are the best and the St. Petersburg book is no exception, wonderfully illustrated and in detail, if you never get to to to St. Petersburg this is the next best thing!
