Broke on First Use
The zipper pull came apart the first time I took this gun case to the field. (and no, the zipper wasn’t stuck on the fabric and no, there was no ham-fisted pull it til it breaks childishness) Looks like Boyt used the finest Chinesiem they could pay someone to find... and then literally stamped their name on it. SMH.My old man has a shotgun sleeve that’s been getting abused for 50+ years at this point, and counting. Looks like an old Boyt, but it must not be. No way it could be considering this Boyt didn’t last a single hunt. Does ANYBODY take pride in their work anymore? Sad!

Just Doesn’t Work
Really wanted to like it but had to return it. The quality of the materials and workmanship is exceptional. Unfortunately there are three fatal flaws. First, the case is too narrow. Maybe if you wanted it for a straight stocked single barrel shotgun like a BT-99 it would be fine. Too tight to fit for anything else. Also, the zipper needs to run the full length of the case not they way it is currently designed. Second, having the zipper on the bottom of the case causes the gun to rest on the zipper when it is being transported. A metal zipper, plus the case being too narrow, plus the gun resting on the zipper when transported and you will get some gun damage unless you put the gun in a sock then in the case. Lastly, the strap is virtually useless either for hand carry or for. should carry. Fix these thee things and the case would be one of the best ones out there.

The Case for Fine Firearms, Dun dun duhhh...
Not for TASCO buyers. Deep, thick padding, brass zippers, leather strapping. Just reeks of gun oil, finely engraved scrollwork, walnut stocks, jodhpurs and English Setters. Pip, pip, cheerio, old Sport! I have four. Keeps my lil darlins RESONABLY safe in the closet, car trunk or bed of pickup from dogs stepping on them to my chuckleheaded buddies tossing their crap in the back. Does so in style. I keep a zipper open to equalize the humidity inside the case, but I can't help but worry about the canvas, thick cotton quilting, and felt lining becoming wet and retaining moisture against my firearms. I would guess that a nylon bag would only trap moisture inside, so ... Trade offs. Sure are nice gun cases though.

It does not fit !
I have two smaller BOYT bags and am very satisfied with them, so I decided to buy a 44' gun case as well. Unfortunately this case does not fit shotgun (Mossberg 930), although this is as tactical 18.5 inch barrel version. The problem is not the length but the width. This case is quite narrow. I was able to force it close but it was totally unacceptable. Given that it becomes even narrower in the barrel section, it would never fit the extended magazine. In addition, the quality of the zippers was not impressive. The zipper does not go full length of the case, only about ⅔, which is inconvenient. The front pocket has a full length velcro, very primitive and hard to open. Made in China.I think the product description is incorrect it should say that it is only suitable for certain types of low profile hunting shotguns with no scope attached. And it is not cheap. I do not recommend this product.

Great case for the money
This is a very nice case, well built, and looks good. If you're looking for a more traditional style case (canvas/leather) you probably won't find a nicer one for the money. It seems built to last and protects my gun well. However, it does have 2 faults. First off, the leather is cheap- it has a very plastic look to it and it seems to just crease up instead of developing wear in a nicer way. The second fault is the strap is not very comfortable to use slung over your shoulder, and it's awkward holding it in your hands. I wish it had a couple of grab handles like other cases and lose the sling. The positives do outweigh the negatives. I would definitely buy the case again, because I prefer the classic look of the case and I'm not going to spend $200-400 for something from Filson, White Wing or Orvis.

Beware of zipper damage
This case is well made with heavy canvas, leather, and lining and a strong sturdy zipper. The problem is that the nice Browning Shotgun that I bought this case for is not protected from the heavy metal zipper. If the gun in the case is bumped against an object the gun stock is damaged by the zipper. The underside of my butt stock (nice wood, beautifully finished) has several indentations from contact with the zipper. Temporarily, I used a soft cloth to cover the wood, but have ordered a Browning hard case so that this won't happen again.

Sharp exterior look but inside would be great if it had more thickness and softeness.
Looks like more expensive cases on the outside, but a little less padding than cases that I would prefer if they did not cost 2 or 3 times as much as this Boyt Harness case. If it had more padding and especially if it had a shearling pad inside it would be a 5+++ for sure at the price. Maybe they will come up with another optional interior finish for us. Hoping the aggressive metal teeth of the zipper don't scratch my gun, so I use a sock over the gun to avoid the zipper scraping.

Well padded and tough fabric
Very stylish. Good protection. When using extended chokes that have slots for a choke wrench, you need to hold this case vertically and place the gun in vertically, otherwise the extended chokes drag against the padding and you have a hard time getting the gun in the case. While the strap is clever, it's not well balanced and it could be more useful. But, very good value for the money and looks handsome.
