Not just for kids, every creative needs these.
Bought these to use in my journaling Bible. I have close to 200 colored pencils of all different brands and types. I wanted these because I get so tired of sharpening pencils plus i was concerned about the sharp point tearing the pages of my Bible. These twistable pencils never need sharpened and don't have a sharp point. Who would have thought I would fall in love with a product meant for children! The colors are bright and vivid and go on so smooth. Not having a sharp point isn't a problem for what I want these for, if you needed a point you could use a craft knife to whittle the tip. They don't blend real well but I didn't expect them to since they aren't watercolor pencils. For what I wanted these for they far exceeded my expectations. I now plan on getting a larger set of them. I've used them in my Journaling Bible, Blessing Journal, art journal, adult coloring books, general sketching, to make clothes for my Julie nutting stamped dolls and more. I've been thrilled with the bright colors, ease of use, coverage and overall quality of these colored pencils in every project I've used them on. These are not just for kids, you need them if you use colored pencils for any type of creative project at all.

You don't have to sharpen them
I know these pencils often are listed as an item for kids, though I am an artist and 69 years old and these pencils are my favorite medium. It is nice not to have to sharpen them every minute, and also these pencils actually blend together well to form new colors. I use t hem frequently and they last a long time. They are so much fun and allow a lot of room for creativity and pleasure even for people serious about their artwork as I am. I highly recommend these for artists of any age!

A new "twist" on traditional colored pencils!
These twistable Crayola colored pencils are like nothing I've ever used before! They color like a cross between a traditional pencil, and a fine-tipped wax crayon - and the results you can achieve are fantastic! I have been able to use just a simple pack of only 12 colors, to make bright and vivid pictures in adult coloring books, and I am really happy with how these "pencils" can bring a picture to life. They do start out with a square tip, so you need to color on some scrap paper to form some edges and points to help you color. This and the fact that they aren't easily used for shading, are their only downside. Other than that, I really love them! I have found them to be sturdy and have not had one break, and they are easy to hold and maneuver. When you have colored the tip down, they are easy to twist up more of the color - and the clear barrel is great for seeing how much of the pencil you have used/is left. (I still have a LOT of coloring to do before I'm at risk of running any of the colors down :) I do recommend them for adult coloring and I can see how they would be good for older children who are able to understand the importance of not twisting them up too far or recklessly. For younger children, I would believe they would need help and supervision with the twisting action and to use the pencils without breaking them. A great product and I am glad to have bought them to add to my crafting supplies - I would definitely buy again.

Twistable convenience, Crayola quality
My kids and I each have our own sets of Crayola twistable colored pencils. My 10 year old son requested this set for coloring a detailed coloring book on history. Crayola is always a trustworthy staple & excellent quality for the price. My kids' only complaints: they don't label these with either a name or number for each color, to make it easy to keep track of which color you were using when you are looking for a specific color, and that a few of the colors look really similar when you use them. (The colors on the shell of the colored pencil look different, but when you color with them, they end up looking almost identical.) Still, you're getting the Crayola quality you know and trust, and I turn to Crayola for my 5 kids. You get so much more usage from these for kids, than traditional wooden colored pencils, due to the convenience of the twistable feature. These will not break easily--unless they're in the hands of a younger kid who would twist the "lead" up and break it off. For this reason, I recommend these twistable colored pencils for kindergarten age and up, but stick to Crayola twistable crayons for the younger ones.

Perfect Size for the Pencil Box
My kids are going to have to do their homework on the go this year, so outfitted them each with a small pencil box filled with grade school necessities. These Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils were a perfect fit! I discovered these last year when one of my kids, armed with a Crayola specific gift certificate, came home with a larger box of these colored pencils. They're brilliant! It's a pencil that doesn't need sharpening. You just twist it up and you're off to the races. Twist it up too much, and the tip will snap off. But that's not a problem, just twist a *little* more. My two problems with these pencils are: 1. I can't find the color names on the pencils. This is a problem when I'm asked to step in and advise on which color is which when it's time to make a rainbow. There's a key on the back of the pouch so I know that one is "blue" and one is "sky blue", but it's up to me to make that final call. 2. The insert that allows the pencils to appear in a staggered row gets pulled out and reinserted by my child. If it doesn't get reinserted correctly, the package looks "wrong" and I have to fix it. I'm not sure how I ended up with a child that actually cares about this, but we're working through it. The colored pencils have already been put to use on homework projects and I'm thrilled with this purchase. I think I'm going to have to get another pack before this year is over.

Great product for airplane rides and restaurant activities!
These are brilliant. You know how you always are on the hunt for a pencil sharpener or a non-broken crayon with your little ones?? Here, this solves this problem. I bought two of those for my 3yo twins for a long plane ride, and I was truly impressed by the sturdiness and the easiness with which I was able to just twist the color back in place when they broke the tip or used too much of a color. I would love to see a sturdier case to hold them, but other than that the twistables are still all in one piece, working, and ready for another long trip (after surviving roundtrip flights and more abuse when placed in the to-go bag for restaurants and other on the go activities!). Great product, highly recommended for little artists. Note: the color itself is a crayola, not a pencil or a marker. Not as saturated as markers,
