Rhode Island Novelty 9" Backwards Clock

It's just a clock, so expectations didn't need to be very high. Good enough quality. Keeping good time, so far. Had one in my parent's house as a kid so it brings back memories.

At work we had multiple wall clocks. Given to us or purchased. None seemed to keep time. Even after changing batteries. So I found this! Since I hung it on The wall at work it’s performed awesome. It brings smiles to the first timers. It took a week for everyone to figure it out. Fun.

Hung it in my bathroom, so I can look at it in my mirror. Would be nicer if numbers were printed backwards too. Otherwise, it works great.

This clock has been an absolute Godsend not only to me, but for my entire family as well. I was born with Esotropia, or “eye misalignment”, that eventually matured into Strabismus, commonly known as “crossed eyes.” I have inadvertently passed on this genetic mutation to my son. We are quite sheltered in our private lives as society usually treats us harshly and without mercy. This clock is the first thing in our lives that is easily understood to us and we are blessed to have found it. The good people of Rhode Island Novelty are truly performing the Lord’s work.

It takes a while to learn to tell the time this way. I kept seeing the quarter after hour as quarter to for instance. Now if it only made me younger by actually reversing time.

I bought this as a gift for my hairdresser, so that her clients, sitting facing the mirror, could easily read the time on a clock hung on the wall behind them. I guess you have to really know the person to whom you might gift this! :-) She was afraid that her clients would be confused. So, I graciously took back my gift. :-) I mounted it in my hallway, across from a mirror that I can see from my bathroom. It's a perfect way for me to check the time while I'm getting ready in the morning, without having to leave the bathroom and check the time on a clock elsewhere. It did make my young grandchildren, who had just learned to tell time on an analog clock, a bit confused. You have to also "stop and think" when resetting it for Daylight Savings Time or when changing the batteries.

It makes for a good conversation. Is it wrong or why do most of our clocks rotate to the right?

Soy zurda y tenía un reloj que me regaló mi hija y gira al revés. Se descompuso y encontré éste. Como era de esperarse no había muchas opciones. Funciona bien, cumple mi objetivo que era tener uno, pero me pareció de baja calidad. Considerando el precio, es congruente.
