Works real well as intended if directions are followed correctly. Burns a long time!!!
Super warm when it working right! Make sure to do all your research and read all instruction prior to first use! Burns for a long long time on a small amount of fuel (8+hrs/ounce +/- YMMV)! The technology is old school but rebranded with a cooler design by Zippo. Works well in freezing temps. in pocket. Gives off a faint fuel smell but it will fade. Will purchase additional replacement heaters when the time comes. My current ones as of this writing is still going strong![07-22-2017 Update] The original catalyst plugs are still working, though not at optimal burn/heat generation. I've got two, and both are around (close to) the 50 uses mark. It takes longer to light up but once it's going it still works. I found it is harder to refill in the field, than when I'm initially setting it up at home. They will make your thighs sweat when placed in your pants pocket when it's warming at optimal temp.! Both Zippo/Ronsonol liquid fuel works equally well. Coleman fuel also works, but I don't like the smell. I've purchased additional plugs for replacement. Highly recommended purchase!

Runs a long time per fill
These work quite well. The key thing is that they run for so long on a fillup. Hours and hours. However, it's essentially a "high maintenance" device in the sense that you have to mess with lighter fluid, awkwardly filling the unit - overfilling and getting lighter fluid all over, etc.If you have patience and tend to tinker with stuff, this won't bother you and you'll enjoy it. If you have little patience and just want quick and simple, grab-n-go, I wouldn't recommend it. You'll get frustrated with the refilling and mess if you're not careful.Note - only add as much fuel as you plan to burn - since once it's put in there, it's gone. It either gets burned, or if you remove the cap so it goes out, it will still evaporate. So don't fill it all the way each time unless you plan to use it for a long time. I use them on dog walks in chilly weather and just squirt a little bit so it burns for 20 minutes or so. They can really negate the need for gloves in cooler outdoor temps.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. WORKS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. I LOVE IT
I absolutely love this thing! The value you can get out of these warmers far outweighs that of the little chemical packs by GRABBER and the like. HotHands Hand Warmers (40 pairs) Look and FeelThe unit is very compact and is not any bigger than a standard smartphone in both length and girth. Hehe. The one i got was black, and the coating is a satin or semi-gloss paint that looks very professional and well built. The whole unit itself feels really good in the hand to hold, and it's easy to wrap your fingers around. The top cap is a bit loose, but can be secured better by removing it, squeezing and bending the sides slightly, and putting it back on. When you squeeze the sides, they apply more pressure to the chassis, making it less prone to fall off. Pretty well built overall.Product PerformanceThese warmers far surpass the heat output of those regular hand warmers you can buy at the dollar store. Especially when you keep it out of its little bag. I like to keep my warmer running for an extended period of time, So I will keep it in its black bag to suffocate it just enough to keep it moderately warm. On those especially cold days, I will remove the black sheath altogether to get this thing piping hot. Sometimes hot enough to burn the skin. Which may sound a bit dangerous, but if you're serious about staying warm in the winter, whether you're camping, hunting, fishing, boating, or working, that should sound like a pretty nice benefit.Overall reviewI really love my warmer, and have bought a second one to take with me when hunting. It does a fantastic job at keeping me warm, and far surpasses anything else you can buy other than a propane heater, which my not always be a viable option. If you are even slightly pondering buying one, GET ONE NOW. you can thank me later.

WHY DIDNT I KNOW ABOUT THIS 20 YEARS AGO!!
This little unit really surprised me. I was a shooting competition and a fellow competitor had one so i asked him about it. I always have cold hands, the rest of my body is always sweating, but for as long as I can remember my hands have always have always been the achilles of my warmth. It looked impressive so I bought one from my phone while standing there in the cold.I wasnt expecting much because its a small, simple unit...but let me tell you!! This thing is amazing! So amazing, that I actually ended up buying another off amazon immediately for my wife (and so that I can have one in each pocket while at the range, walking, or snowboarding)! One is great, but two is even better because then you dont have to keep switching hands or clasping it between your two hands...and for $12/piece, its worth having two!Honestly, I wish I had known about these things a decade ago! My father would have enjoyed watching me play rugby + soccer a lot more.Seriously, you drop one of these in each pocket of your jacket and they transform your pockets from little ice coolers into little hand ovens of JOY!! Never to hot to touch, but very warm!!I have been a preacher of these things for the last 2 weeks! If you have kids who play sports, these things are a must!! You can stand on the side lines and not freeze while watching that soccer game, or in the stands while watching you kids play hockey. Put them in an inside chest pocket it will warm your entire jacket up from the inside! Its like being wrapped in an electric blanket every where you go!Anyway...as you can tell, Im pretty stoked about this product.**A TIP**. I recommend carrying a small ziplock bag with a little bic lighter with you whenever your using this hand warmer. That way, when you are done with it, you can place it in the ziplock and close the bag. This will suffocate the heating element out and prevent your fuel from evaporating + stop any fuel smells that could potentially build up/bother you.Also- I found the cover and heating element piece came loose a little to easily for me (i handle it a lot), but since they are aluminum, I just pinched the open ends together a little bit so its a tighter fit and that solved all my problems!Happy hand warming!

I was hoping for more .........
I bought two, one I already sent back as it never worked the other is in use but its unreliable, it goes out, is hard to light and in old weather never gets really warm. It promises much but keeps very little. I have gone though all the instructions, checked YouTube videos and followed strict instruction. Makes no difference. Two stars as sometimes it stays on and gets warm (not hot) . I was hoping for more and am now looking into getting a rechargeable one.

nice and toastey
brill ordered another one when found out how good it was my have lasted 20 hours on one fill. place it in inside coat pocket and it give a ambient heat and keeps your whole coat warmer. to use as a hand warmer you can take the bag off but can be to hot. one down side you cannot tell if it is lite but it does not take long to warm up so light it 10 minutes before you need to use it to make sure. this is probably because I have used charcoal burners and seem to be a bit of hit and miss.

Excellent!
I bought this for a friend as he liked mine so much. They seem to get hotter one day than another. They dont give a huge amount of heat, but definitely enough! Keep it in your pocket and its perfectWe play disc golf all year round, and sometimes on the course for a long time. So having it last 12 hours is absolutely great!!

Possibly I sucked the heat out with my stone cold hands
I have Reynaud's and this really helped me on a night out to a park. My blood circulation means the cold causes me serious pain and this kept my hands right and warmed my belly too. Possibly I sucked the heat out with my stone cold hands, lasted me 11 hours.
