Learning new math and practicing math kids already know are two different and important things to do. I actually think of them as two subjects: conceptual math and math practice. Math practice is like working out for your brain. Even if you already know how to run, you get better at it through practice. And you get worse at it when you donโt practice. When kids donโt practice the math they already know, they actually lose skills over time. Implementing a 30 minute daily math practice time can change that, by reinforcing skills through practice. For daily practice, use a workbook that is at the kidsโ comfort level, even if itโs a lower grade than the one they are in. They will get the benefits of practice, and should be able to do it pretty independently if you find the right practice level. For that type of math, I think this is the best workbook out there right now. And a 300 page workbook will last a long time. Sylvan makes the best practice workbooks for math. If, like me, youโre working to fill in the at-home school day with meaningful work for your kids, this is a great math practice resource. Best Math Workbooks
My children love these workbooks. They beg to do these workbooks. The pages are very engaging and colorful. The games, riddles, jokes, and puzzles make math a lot of fun. In the first third of the book there are brief explinations on how to do the problems (a little teaching/explaining, but not much). Plus, they are a good size workbook for a good price. We bought our first set at Costco to get ahead for the next year (awesome summer practice!) and have since used them for homeschooling while moving (bought on Amazon). Highly, highly recommend!

It's easy and self taught
I bought this book for my Son for summer school and he loves it. It's easy and self taught. My son spends lots of time and seems to enjoy learning this way.... Homeschool may be better for my son .... My son has even talked with me about it. ADHD plays a major role in helping to determine if this type of education is a better learning activity then school. This will offer my son the ability to get away from the bulling because he's so hyper and difficult at times because he's board.

Great for even the "math-a-phobic" students!
My daughter has not been a fan of math- to put it mildly. I decided to try this workbook as our homeschool curriculum this year since it looked a bit different then all of our previous workbooks. So far, I am really happy with this and so is she! I like that I can choose to have her do one page of each coordinating section and the math puzzles and life applying math examples make it more relevant as well as fun. I think we found the perfect curriculum for her this year!
