Just bought & feeder starts spinning for 1 second then stops starts again continuously. It won’t stop. Any ideas what issue is?

I really don't have an idea. I would check to see if the photocell is working as it should. Then check the timer adjustment knob. If this did not work I would send it back to Amazon or American Hunter asking for replacement.

How do you connect the battery in feeder kit

There is a door on the black box under spinner plate where the control settings are located. open door and slide battery into opening in box with battery terminals touching the two plates on side of box. once new battery is in position you can set controls and test unit.
