Ginkgo & Decaf Green Tea, 20 Tea Bags 1.27 OZ (Pack of 6)

I've been on a quest to get off of caffeine because it interferes with my sleep. This product gives me the alertness I'm looking for, without the nasty highs and lows of caffeine. In addition, I can have this in the evenings and still have no trouble going to sleep. If you're used to the caffeine buzz, getting used to the alertness from this tea will need some getting used to (it's hard to explain, but this product gives you focus without making your head feel buzzy). I would suggest moving from coffee to green tea over some months, before finally switching to this product. Another plus over caffeine is that caffeine would make my heart rate swing erratically, this tea doesn't mess with my heart rate, and I don't feel like a lab rat.

My previous experience with a different green tea of this brand was very good, but this time I was ordering in a hurry and did not see that this product contains Eleuthero, Astragalus, Fo-Ti & Poria, none of which I can have. That was disappointing that these ingredients aren't more clearly stated! In fact, the ingredients lists are confusing and in conflict. On the Amazone page, it clearly states for ingredients: "Proprietary Blend of Herbs: Chinese Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Uralensis) (Root), Anemarrhena (Anemarrhena Asphodeloides) (Root), Eucommia (Eucommia Ulmoides) (Leaf)". What the heck are those? Well surprise surprise, they must be Eleuthero, Astragalus, Fo-Ti & Poria. Who knew? I don't want to need a translator and Chinese dictionary to know exactly what is in my tea. Expensive lesson to learn!

I have used Triple Leaf brand tea in the past and tried several variations. Each time I end up using two bags, it may just be that I prefer a stronger tea, but even the bags seem a bit smaller than normal, maybe it's intentional and I am overdoing it. This product in particular is a good mix, ginseng, ginko, decaf green tea. I tried to find a product with this blend for awhile with no luck. The tea tastes great with some honey, it has a bit of an earthy taste, as to be expected, but it is not overpowering and the honey easily smooths it out. Ginseng and ginko have a long history and many reported benefits, I do know buy into all of it, but some of it must be true. Clinical studies have shown ginko to help people who have occasional claudication, but had no effect on individuals with noraml operating memories. Of course green tea is antioxidant rich, and the longest living people drink it daily. These things seem to change everyday though, I remember when butter was bad for us... Basicaly, a good product, priced right. Get's one star off for the weakness of the brew, but as I said, maybe it should get full stars and it was intentional.

I bought this without really any expectations to its effects. It tastes like cheap green tea, but I noticed after a few days of use that my face has cleared up and became brighter, if that makes sense. Also, I think it had a mild positive effect on my mood, as it appears to have my mind more calm. My body overall feels stronger as well. This probably makes this tea sound like an all-miracle cure, which it isn't, but its effects are quite pleasant. Try it and see for yourself. P.s: It's true, it enhances your libido (but nothing too serious ;) )

Love taste and how body feels after drinking. Also the additional herbs are a plus. Definitely recommend. Will purchase again.

It's impossible to know for sure if the adverse effects I experienced were from this tea. But the first time I tried it several months ago I felt very jittery and even had trouble sleeping that night, as if I'd had caffeine even though I had drank the tea in the morning. The next time I tried it (today) I got a massive headache soon after drinking it in the morning (I rarely get headaches and never in th morning hours). I also experienced heart palpitations for 10-15 seconds - never a pleasant feeling. As I said, there's no way to no for sure what caused these reactions but both times the only new thing I had was this tea. To be safe, I'm disposing of the rest of it.

I ordered the wrong stuff here!

After anxiously anticipating the arrival of this tea, I received it in the mail today. Amazon provided very prompt shipping and the package was packed nicely without and damages. As for the tea, per my experience: It is nice and smooth, gold in color, with a very nice earthy flavor. I like my tea without sweetener of any kind and most are bitter without it. However, this tea in very smooth. I'll update this post at a future date to report on any noticeable affects mentally and/or physically.
