Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen Protective Dark Tannning Sun Care Sunscreen Lotion - SPF 4, 8 Ounce

I've been using Hawaiian Tropic sun screen products for years. Usually I use SPF 15 because I have lighter skin, but since I have a base tan, I bought the SPF 4 to try, and I couldn't be happier! I was at the beach for 3-4 hours two days in a row, I applied it once before I arrived, and once more about 1.5-2 hours after being in the sun and in the ocean and I did NOT burn. The bottle says "tanning lotion sunscreen", and that's exactly what it is, as my base tan has already darkened after two uses. My skin is also very sensitive to oily products, and when I use them my skin reacts immediately. This lotion, however, left my skin feeling fresh and smooth exactly like a regular lotion, which is really important for anyone else with sensitive skin to know. It also smells amazing!

This product gives a nice gradual tan, which is also done in a safe way by providing just the right amount of SPF. The product is easy to open and close, and also easy to squeeze for a fast, effortless application. The application is so easy as the lotion is creamy (not greasy), has a great tropical smell and glides on, while still soaking into your skin. No sticky feeling and dry time is under 5 mins. I love the fact that this lotion is so moisturizing, works quickly, and doesn't make me break out. So its perfect for daily use after showers, and can be reapplied as needed through out the day. This is the only lotion you will need/want to buy!

The only one I use

I can always tell when someone is using Hawaiian Tropic products, that amazing scent is just so distinct! Takes me back to Hawaii every time. I can literally detect it from a mile away. What do I do when I get a new bottle of "the Trop" as I refer it? Pop it open and inhale that intoxicating smell of course. This particular product doesn't have enough SPF to fully protect you from the sun, however it's a great base if you're looking to get a nice tan. I like to use it when I'm out and about in the sun, (going to the park or running errands outdoors), I would be cautious using it alone if you're planning on sunbathing for an extended period of time. Tan=awesome, melanoma=not so much.

I like this product because it gives a good tan. They used to make it in SPF eight but I can’t find that anymore. Looking for a less expensive alternatives but….

I have been using Hawaiian Tropic for as long as I can remember. With age, I have found the importance of proper skin protection. Since in the Winter I become extremely white I really want a tan when summer time comes without the worry of burning. The first day I used this I forgot to reapply and at the end of the day of being at the water park with my kids I had realized that my face, top of ears, and shoulders looked as if they were burnt without the pain. This was my fault but the next day I looked in the mirror and redness was gone and the beginning of a glowing tan was left. After that I have made sure to reply and still have a slight redness to my skin in those same places but I figure it may be more due to my skin type because it never hurts and is gone by the next day. Also never pealed. So think this is something that has developed with age. I love this and would recommend this for anyone trying to avoid sunburns but still looking to get a tan.

I have always been a fan of Hawaiian Tropic Products and this item is no exception. As I tan fairly easy I use this low SPF 4 factor to achieve a gorgeous bronze tan and still prevent burning. It is also very moisturizing. And I love the smell which is a strong coconut smell.

I’ve always used factor 4 Hawaiian Tropic I spend 20 mins n the sun before noon and 30 mins after 3 on. It works for me!
