Perfectly wonderful purchase.
The title of this book is perfect. Every page is beautiful. The paper is fine quality. If you zentangle, or if you just want a book that is lovely to look at and appreciate over and over again, this book is a treat for the eyes. Not to mention the artists' very interesting comments. I love this book.

Great inspiration with some instruction
This book has a wide variety of zentangle approaches (and artists) so that no matter what your creative inclinations are you can find something that helps you expand your thinking. I particularly like the use of zentangles superimposed over another design, for example, a classically drawn face with zentangled hair or the painting of a woman with zentangled clothes.I work mostly on gourds and was pleased to see Judy Burkett's gourd. I have been doing my own versions of gourd zentangles as gourdoodles but her approach is far more artistically freeing (there are designs within designs) and has given me inspiration to try more ambitious projects. (Linda R. Cobb also worked "in the round" on a ceramic pig.) The works of the other artists are also inspiring but for me there is a difference between working on a 2 dimensional versus a 3 dimensional surface. At the back of the book there is an instruction area showing how to approach several of the tangles. It's very helpful in seeing the steps one can take when working on complex designs. Seeing the sequencing of steps is very freeing and allows me to try more complex designs.I recommend this book heartily for those who want a broad approach to the use of zentangles.

Not Much Step-Out Instruction, but Still a Valuable and Interesting Book!
I have most of the Zentangle books that Amazon sells. I am not artistic, but I love the art of Zentangle. The book doesn't have much step-out instruction. If you focus on the patterns, you can figure them out (for the most part). I am pleased I added this book to my collection.

Flawless, Impressive, Informative.
Fabulous Selection, excellently edited. Flawlessly presented. A lot of careful, Mindful work went into the presentation of this book. The staging is perfect, on the best quality paper available. Whenever I get stuck or just want a new view of the possibilities this is where I go. Tons of finished Zentangles from around the world with short comments by each artist. It's a carefully selected variety of work with pieces ranging from the simple and classic to large scale professional quality ZIA. The best collection out there. Not a "how to," a ,"See What You Too Can Do!" reference. And, yes, there are step outs for some very interesting tangles in the back.

I have to confess that the book I received was a 'second'--the pages including the covers were off-cut, so I was a little put off by that. However, I bought the book--I was familiar with it from much perusing a library copy--because it offers a wonderful 'dictionary' of fun and interesting Zentangle patterns, plus it has 'inspired' me to create zentangle patterns of my own and for my very young grandchildren to do likewise. I highly recommend the book to anyone looking for a myriad different applications of zentangle. The book itself, while a little strange with the off-cut, is brand spanking new, so I can't really complain!! K

Gorgeous book
If you are a fan of Zentangle, then I believe this is a book for you. It if full of beautiful examples of Zentangle and Zentangle Inspired Art. I received many valuable ideas just from looking through the book. I recognized the signatures on many of the pieces in this book. They are either people whom have written Zentangle books themselves, or they are well known Certified Zentangle Teachers. It's a lovely book just to have on the coffee table, pick up and browse through while taking a break, or it can be studied in depth and much can be learned from it.

Big Surprise Here
I was very hesitant in purchasing this book. Not so much the price but the Author. I bought several of Suzanne McNeill's earlier books which I was not very pleased with. Skimpy, very short (if you add the front and back cover they contain a mere 20 pages and 10 of those pages were repetitive information from previous Zentangle books she had written). So, upon receiving this book I was very pleased. And it's definitely a keeper. Beautifully done, creative and chuck-full of ideas. A must get if you're into Zentangles. I would also highly recommend Sandy Steen Bartholomew's books, 'Yoga for your Brain' & 'Totally Tangled'.
