Dulux Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint - Pure Brilliant White - 2.5L

Good quality exterior paint, very light grey but goes on well

Perfect paint for the outside wall I need to cover. Unfortunately not been able do it yet due to the wet weather.

I needed to paint an old exterior wall which had been rendered with a course end finish. I choose Dulux weathershield due to the previous reviews and I was not disappointed in the end result. The paint itself has a high viscosity – it is thick! and I found it easier to apply using a 3” brush. I am not sure if you could roller this material especially over a very rough surface. As stated the wall I was painting had no previous coating or primer, and quite a deep tan base colour. I applied 2 full coats – in some areas it needed touching up so 3 coats to give full coverage of the original substrate. The drying was quick (I did this in Spring with outside temperatures of around 12C), it certainly was through dry within 3 – 4 hours. I re-coated the next day. The end colour and finish was definitely a bright white and I am extremely pleased with the overall look (see attached pics of before and after). Now the very slight negative , the tin states coverage of 37m2 for 2.5L. This is definetly depending on the type of substrate (how rough). My wall did “absorb” quite a lot of paint and the coverage was lower. So please take in to consideration this fact and increase your paint quantity if you substrate is porous. Now I am being picking, overall I am super pleased with the outcome – I hope it lasts as long as stated on the tin e.g. 15 years protection and if it does then this is really good value. I have given it 4 star due to the cost, performance and coverage assessment. I will certainly use it again or other jobs!

Excellent paint,covers well and dries quickly. Very good price,much less expensive than local paint suppliers.

Fabulous paint with high density colour. I bought the Jasmine which is more white than I hoped but it looks great and covers the horrible pebbledash on my house beautifully making it look as good as possible for such nasty stuff.
