Mobilegs are far superior to standard-design crutches and DEFINITELY worth the extra expenditure
I am a busy, active person and am unable to take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with these crutches. After breaking my left foot in multiple areas, with my doctor's stern orders for no weight-bearing, I was overwhelmed with how I would get around for the next 12 weeks for work, general activities, caring for my elderly dog, etc. I had been using standard crutches for three days and my underarms were so sore, I was absolutely miserable. Mobilegs were suggested to me by my personal trainer but when I researched them, my first thought was that I could not spend that much for crutches, when standard crutches are 1/3 the price (I have a very high deductible, so they were not covered.) That said, nine weeks later, I will attest that Mobilegs are far superior to standard-design crutches and DEFINITELY worth the extra expenditure, especially if using crutches for more than a few days. The underarm area is large, pliable and adjusts on springs, so the typical pain in the underarm area is negated, even after repeated use. The hand grips are very comfortable and much easier to hold on to, the angle & design completely avoids rubbing in the padded bottom area of the hand and wrist (where I have arthritis that often flares up.) I have had no pain at all. The bottom leg grips are wider and shaped differently than the other style crutches and are very stable. They are easy to transport myself when getting in and out of the car. Wherever I go, these crutches have been a conversation starter - the design is so sleek. After ordering, I received them the following day. I use them for work everyday, going on client appointments, through busy airports, on a recent beach vacation (on the sand) and even to the theater last week, walking 5 blocks from the parking lot. I have been using them daily for 9 weeks with at least 3 weeks left to go; I cannot express how very thankful I am to my trainer who suggested them to me. When I went recently back to the doctor's office for X-rays I asked if they had ever seen Mobilegs crutches. I was surprised at the answer - they said that they have them, but most people will not spend the extra money for them so they don't usually suggest them. If you have pause at the though of the extra cost above regular crutches, I urge you to give them a try - they are worth every penny!

Excellent Product Could Use Some Minor Enhancements
These crutches are awesome. Having used the traditional crutches in the past, I was excited when I found these before a surgery I was to have. I have had the pleasure of having the office chairs that the designer of these crutches is credited with co-designing for 15 years now and thought that if these were half as comfortable as the chairs it would be a huge improvement over traditional crutches. They are a huge improvement over traditional crutches. The most noticeable benefit is that 24 days post surgery now I haven't had a single bit of chaffing in my arm pits. And while my wrists still hurt a bit from all the extra weight being supported by my wrists, the ergonomic hand grips and positioning minimize the pain and relieve pressure on the nerves preventing common pain up into the arm. The mesh upper is soft and is designed not to move too much in your arm pit, thus reducing the chaffing. The upper also turns from side to side a bit which allows for a more natural walking motion on the crutches, again preventing the chaffing. The upper is mounted into the aluminum crutch on a spring providing some shock absorption. The hand holds are an ergonomic foam that is very comfortable and the rubber on the bottom of the crutch is rounded like the legs of a rocking chair providing for a "smooth" forward movement. The only negative that I've noticed is that the clickity-clack that adjustable crutches have where the adjustable pegs hit the sides when you put weight on the crutch seems to be louder on these crutches. Would be nice if there was a way to dampen the noise. One other point to note, if you are used to regular crutches and sometimes rely on the solidity of the upper to carry things short distances without using your hands on the crutch, you can't do that with these since they are spring mounted. To summarize, highly recommended.

MobiLegs Ultras are a revolution. Period.
I have a Morton's Neuroma in each foot, so while they're being treated I have to use crutches. Here's the review I just put on the MobiLegs website. MobiLegs Ultras are a revolution. Period. I'm new to having to use crutches. I tried the traditional type, I tried the "Life Crutches", I bought pads, I wrapped towels - Nothing felt comfortable. I chafed and bruised my underarms. Then I ordered MobiLegs Ultra. It's like they were custom made just for me! They are well built and even though they're lightweight, they really feel SOLID. I'm 6'1" and 240 lbs. These make me feel very secure. They are a set, not a pair - one is designed for your right side, the other for your left. The armpit piece is a saddle and it's SPRING LOADED! I can't tell you how comfortable they are. No extra padding needed. They curve to make the "tripod" stance feel natural. The hand grips are molded, non-slip, hi-density rubber. I actually look forward to using them - with the other types, I dreaded the thought of having to go anywhere - The MobiLegs Ultras have given me mobility again! No, they're not cheap, but they're not cheaply made. They're worth every penny. PJ

So much better than traditional crutches. These are what you need.
I blew out my left knee and I am in need of crutches until I can get it repaired. I was using traditional crutches which are very painful on the under arms. I just received these and they work SO much better. Very lightweight. Extremely adjustable. These are far better engineered both in quality and mechanical design. They make for much more efficient and safer walking with little to no armpit pain. They do require more strength in your lower arms as now all of you weight will be on your hands and wrists but they are much more comfortable to use. This makes it more easier to get around because unlike the traditional ones, you are not fearful of the pain they will cause on your underarms as there is none.

Better than traditional crutches in so many ways.
Pros: 1) Easier on the hands, especially if you have large hands. Traditional crutches were too narrow for me to use properly, and my hands would get pinched between the handle and the posts on either side, or I would have to support all of my weight on just my thumbs. The Ergonomic handles on mobilegs, while still not correctly sized for me, gave me more flexibility in positioning my hands to reduce the stress on my joints and didn't cause pinching or blistering. It actually allowed my hands to heal after dealing with the traditional crutches for a week. 2) Comfortable saddles that don't bruise your ribs or arm pits. 3) Faster, and more controlled movement. Cons: 1) I am at the upper limit of the weight bearing capacity of these crutches, and they creak horribly as my weight is applied, and removed. 2) The spring, and hinge in the saddles makes it a little tougher to keep slip outs from happening, and don't allow mobilegs to provide much support in cases where you need to stand and use your hands. Many times, I find that I need to have at least one hand on a crutch to prevent me from losing my balance and falling because the spring or hinge gives too much, to easily. 3) The grip of the feet leaves much to be desired especially at the edges where the contact patch is smallest. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for me by a large margin, even with the reduced stability considered. I have found that more careful use and strengthening of my upper body has reduced much of the stability issues over time. Also, after a month of handling my near 300lbs I can say that whoever is having problems with feet wearing out too fast, must be dragging them over rough surfaces, and bashing them really hard into the ground, because mine are showing little to no wear.

A must for anyone with shoulder, arm, hand or balance issues
If you have shoulder, hand, wrist or arm issues and need crutches, GET THESE! I've got arthritis & issues in both hands, and have had two major surgeries on my left shoulder, and some nerve damage there. These issues make my shoulder painful & unstable, with risk of dislocation & other injury if I put weight onto my outstretched or straightened arm. Also, gripping things or putting weight onto my hands causes pain & trigger finger, and my grip of narrow things, like standard crutch grips, isn't strong. Unfortunately, my knees aren't great, either, and I needed a total knee replacement last month. Using standard crutches a few years ago after minor knee surgery was a disaster, so I started researching alternatives, hoping to avoid using a wheelchair or walker, since my home has a lot of stairs. I stumbled upon these Mobilegs crutches, and the design sounded promising for my issues, so I took a gamble. So glad I did! I highly recommend getting them ahead of time, watching the company's videos, and practicing to get the hang of it. The video really makes the difference. After watching it, it "clicked", and I within a few minutes I was getting around easily, safely & comfortably. Yes, they are a bit tough to adjust. The key is to wiggle/twist from side to side as you try to push the button. If your hands are weak or arthritic like mine, you might need a 2nd person to help push the button while you twist & pull. Don't do what I did - use a pen to push the button. I pushed too far acvidentally and pushed completely inside & up, had to get a pair of needlenose pliers to pull it out & back into place, and start over. The Mobilegs allows your arm, wrist & hand to be in a more natural position - not stiff straight & tense at your side. The hand grips flare out to the sides just a bit, taking stress off your wrist & elbow, and the thicker, firmly padded non-slip grips are much easier on your hands, distributingbthe pressure across the palm instead of across your knickles or thumb base. The silicone-type material was comfortable, and didn't chafe or get sweaty, sticky or grimy, and easily wiped clean. The best part is the shoulder piece. It's a soft-but-firm silicone rubber, curved & wide to fit comfortably under your armpit, but it rests on a spring-rocker base, so it moves with you as you walk or swing thru your steps, without rubbing or chafing, and the mesh grid surface keeps you from getting sweaty. It also didn't rub & damage my bare skin or clothing - sweaters, tshirts, tank tops, etc. Though, for the ladies, if you wear underwire bras, depending on where they hit under your arm, the end of the wire might catch & pinch. This only happened to me on one side, and only with some bras, so I switched to a wireless bra. What I liked best about these crutches was how much more stable I felt. Because the design angles them slightly away from your sides, it keeps you more naturally upright vs leaning forward or resting on the shoulder pads like standard crutches, and you feel more balanced and stable, and never feel like you're tipping in any direction. The ar. Position is more like your natural arm position when walking, too, which also helped. I used them for 3 weeks, and never once did I get any pain in my hands, arms, shoulders, or back, like I did with standard crutches. The larger diameter of the legs and beefy rubber feet - which have circular grooves and are slightly convex for traction - were great for moving smoothly over rough surfaces or carpet, hardwood, tile and wet pavement, and on stairs. I'm 5'8", with long arms & torso, and being able to adjust leg height vs upper body/arm length was a real bonus and key factor in how comfortable they were to use. My surgeon and the therapists that worked with me post-op in the hospital the day of my surgery loved these crutches because of how adjustable & stable they were, and how easily I was able to get up and get around on them immediately after waking up compared to standard ones. My husband is 6'2", with very long arms & legs and there's more than enough length for him, too. As a nice benefit, the handle grips & shoulder pads made it easier to rest them against a wall or table, etc., within reach without falling down, and the soft shoulder pads make it easier to squueze & hold under your arm while standing when you need to use your hands, say, to sign in at the doctor, open a door, pay at a cash register, zip a coat, etc. They are more exoensive than standard crutches, but well worth it, especially if there's a chance you or a loved one might need crutches again. Between arthritis & clumsiness, I'm sure I'll need crutches again, so these are going in the closet for next time.

Real game changer!
I don't know how anyone could give less than 5 stars! I would give more if I could. Doc told me 12 weeks no weight on leg, walmart crutch was not great, but worked. I got that iwalk3 thing which I thought for sure would be the answer, I still use crutches with it and it's a pita to get up and get down with it strapped on. These mobilegs are freaking perfect! They don't feel all janky like Walmart crutch, the handgrip feels strong and fits in even my huge hand perfectly! I'm just under 6'5" which I was concerned about but I really think they fit me perfect at full extension. I'm also big, 280 and they are so stable. I read reviews about creaking and whatnot, I have not experienced anything like that. I wish that these things were available everywhere, doctor should have handed me a pair and sent me on my way. Time to donate the iwalk and Walmart crutches and call it a day! Thank you mobilegs, and thank you Gini Thomas and her great videos for introducing these crutches to me!

A Love Letter to the World’s Best, Most Comfortable Crutches
Quite easily the main reason I made it through the 2-weeks, non-weight-bearing stage of my ankle surgery was these adult crutches. They are the most comfortable crutches I have ever used, and after two surgeries, countless ankle and knee sprains, I know a thing or two about crutches. I can’t believe I’m writing a review for a medical device, but here we are. And you’re reading. Because you’re now in the same spot I was in. Surgery coming. Anxiety setting in. Reminders of how awful your armpits and hands felt the last time you were on crutches. And I, too, was reading reviews, claiming how amazing these specific crutches are, doubting the authenticity of the account leaving the review. Therefore, I feel as if I owe it to these crutches (and the Amazon Seller) to pay it forward and write my own review. You think, “Gosh these seem expensive.” And they are. Especially for something you hope to only use once. And I know you’re thinking it, because I too thought the same thing. I could go on, and on about the ergonomic curved handles, the spring-loaded pit pads, or the rocker feet… all the features that make these crutches freaking easy and comfortable to use. And all those things would be true. So just buy the dang crutches.
