Lee Women's Plus Size Comfort Fit August Cargo Bermuda Short

I typically wear a 18 or 20 (usually 20) in women's pants and am a somewhat pear shaped hourglass (mostly balanced but hips and thighs are definitely slightly larger). It's hard to say exactly what size because every store/brand fits differently. However, I ordered the 20W and they were snug around the thighs/butt...and loose around the waist. I had that nice big ol' gap in the back. This is common with me and my body. I wish I'd bought a 22 to compare, but I have a feeling I'd still need the waist altered, and it's just not worth it for shorts. Why oh why don't more shorts and casual summer clothes incorporate drawstrings at the waist! Pretty please!!!

I always have the waist gapping issue, and this pair was no exception. I bought the 20W, which is my most typical pants size, but they were too snug (aside from the waist). Do most clothing companies just assume everyone's hips and butts are the same size as their waist? Anyway, if you are pear shaped, you may have similar luck. I'd also err on the side of ordering up. I am 5'9" and liked the length--I prefer shorts to my knee or just above.

I thought I'd never be able to transition out of maternity pants as much as I dieted and exercised. These shorts really came through for me. They are stretchy enough around the waist that there is no muffin top and they are very comfy. Fit great through hips and thighs, too, as that's where I carry most of my weight. They fit true to size for me and are a dream come true. Highly recommended.

Shorts fit well, and I like having the cargo pockets for my phone and all the things the kids seem to hand me when we're out and about.
