I'm a beginner piano student and have bought several books by this author. I really enjoyed them and have found them very helpful in my understanding and learning of piano. While I'm still a beginner, I found this book very helpful as everything is so well explained in a visual format. While I'm not at this level yet, the music, proper finger placement and notation is straightforward and easy to understand in the layout of this book. Each song has the music, followed by the music with finger placement, followed by the music notation with notes written out. The songs are all well-known to piano students and very common for playing and practicing. This is definitely a book I will keep with the goal of being able to play it completely one day. I highly recommend this book and the other books from this author, as they are great tools to have on hand for piano students, especially if you are a visual learner.

I have to say that I am really enjoying this book. I am still very new to piano, but I have been wanting to branch out into some more complex classical songs, and I couldn’t be happier upon stumbling across this gem. I found that I will probably be referencing the regular sheet music included, but I still found the colored finger positions helpful in knowing what the recommended way of playing the pieces is. Damian does a fantastic job of laying out the compositions from the more straightforward songs, to the more complex and I feel in time that I will be playing these pieces without issue. I highly recommend this book to beginners looking to advance their piano journey.

I thought the choice of pieces was great, such classics. As a piano player myself the versions with all the notes was a little too busy for me. I think someone actually playing such advanced pieces in real time would not be able;e to read the notes as they go along and would also be advanced enough that they didn't need the notes written out like that, but I liked the selection of pieces.

It’s been 30• years since I played any instrument. I found this new book that takes you from beginner to advanced and absolutely having so much fun. The book is well written and easy to follow. For all you 50’ band geeks out there.

Piano Songs for Advanced Beginners is great book for furthering your development on learning to play piano. I read the authors previous books on playing piano and was so impressed that I went ahead and read this one. I cannot stress how much easier the author makes it to learn by using finger numbering and color coding. I'm not at this level yet, but it definitely eases my mind and give me hope that I will be soon.

This is the second book by Damien Herman that I’ve bought. It’s a great way to level up your piano playing. I like that he gives clear guidelines on how to proceed and practice, encouraging you to take your time to learn it well. The classical songs he chose are beautiful, and I love that he includes audio so I can hear the tempo and rhythm.

I used to play as a child, and have been meaning to relearn what I've forgotten. This book is helping enormously. It gives you three versions of every piece: The basic music, then the same with fingering added, then again with the notes written above the stave/notes. Very good for cross referencing and making it all just that little bit easier to keep the flow of learning quicker... Very useful..
