First I would like to add a disclaimer that the bed frame is super hard to build. I read the reviews and thought others were joking, but it took me 24hrs to build it. The instructions are easy to follow if you know what your looking at. I made the mistake of looking at the left sided instructions even though I wanted my bed to face the right. The instructions have both the left side and the right side in one book. It does not come with two separate guides so please check which side your looking at because I did not know there was a right side manual until I got to the end of the left side manual. I literally used max brain pawer just working with the left side manual. The pieces came in with extra screws and Allen wrenches so that was helpful. The pieces are easy to assemble and they fit together perfectly. The frame itself is very sturdy and strong. The storage boxes at the bottom are strong and fit perfectly in their place. The lights are super cute and fun to customize since it came with a remote. I had the frame for about a month now and the battery to the remote died already, but at least it came with a battery. I bought the full size frame and my mattress is flush to the frame. It is true to size. If you are reading this, BUY IT!! Just make sure you have nothing to do like work when you build it cuz you will have to call out like I did just to get it finished haha.

Okay, I bought this for myself as a Christmas present and put it together after new years. The only snag I ran into was that the uprights come in two different part configurations (20 and 21) and that there's supposed to be two of parts 21. There was an error in packaging and I ended up with two of parts 20, so the shelf on the long side was halfway completed. Yes you don't have to put the long shelf completely together to install it, which is handy if you want to put it together by yourself which I did. Long story short, contacted Formu and they made the correct part, and after about a month (to make and ship) the long shelf is complete. So to summarize: Easy of Assembly (5/5)- I put the majority of this together at solo at an hour when one should really be in bed and not putting one together, the shelves were completed the next morning. Durability (5/5)- A primarily steel construction and I don't know what the support structure in the fabric bins but even they seem more durable than you might expect. Functionality (4/5)- Only a 4 out of 5 because I haven't been able to use the lighted part (home wiring needs update) but everything else is awesome. I also opted not to use the mattress keepers as it's easier for me to slid the mattress out to make the bed. Storage space (5/5)- It has helped me organize my t-shirt collection, and cleared a couple shelves on an old bookshelf. The short shelf is devoted to my devices and making sure my cat can't knock my glasses off it in the middle of the night. Customer service (10/5)- They were responsive and quick to remedy the error. Clear and professional communication throughout the entire process.

Took longer than expected to put together because I didn't have any help, and the packaging suggests it's a two person job. You absolutely HAVE to use the directions. There are too many parts. You can't wing it. But the end result is worth it! It's beautiful, and my daughter approves, and seeing her smile made it worth every penny! Solo it took me roughly 6 hrs to complete. So don't start it until you have some decent time to commit to putting it together.

The bed is fine, once I was finally able to get it together. Worst directions ever. It was totally confusing and I was constantly having to pull things back apart. I can usually have something like this completed in a couple of hours but it took me almost 15 hours while deciphering the instructions. Hire someone to put it together.

Plenty to assemble but if you follow the instructions it would take about 1:30 hours between 2 people. Once done pretty firm and I would recommend a 10" mattress.

Some of the boards where broken n the lights don't work. Some of the bars are bent as well.

Building it was not as difficult as some of the reviews here made it sound and no extra tools required. Just follow the instructions and it's pretty simple.
