The kit was everything I needed to complete the job. However, I didn’t check all of the connections before I started and introduced air into the system. However after I tightened all hose connections, all went perfectly and in only a few minutes. Follow the instructions.

Perfect. Came with two adapters to connect at helm. Love the quick connect made the job a lot cleaner than when I used clamps. One of the connectors leaked a bit but stopped when I tightened the connection fitting. Worked perfect on my seastar twin motors.

I picked up this Hydraulic Steering Bleed Kit for the 16-foot ski boat, and it is a total game-changer for anyone dealing with a spongy steering wheel. If you have a SeaStar system, you know that trying to bleed the air out without the right tools is a messy, two-person nightmare. This kit makes it a quick, one-man job that stays clean. Mess-Free and Efficient The best thing about this kit is the upgraded bottle cap thread with an integrated seal. On the cheaper versions, the fluid always seems to leak out and get all over the deck, but this one stays leak-proof even when you flip the bottle upside down to start the fill. The 21.6-inch clear hoses are the perfect length; they let you see exactly when the air bubbles stop and the solid fluid starts, so you aren't guessing if you're done. Solid, Professional-Grade Materials Durable Brass Fittings: The connectors are made of high-quality brass, which is a must for anything near the water to prevent rust and corrosion. PU Hose Assembly: The hoses are flexible but tough enough that they won't kink up while you're working in the tight spaces around the helm or the outboard. Quick Connect System: It uses quick-connect fittings that snap right onto the bleed valves on the steering cylinder. It makes the whole setup and teardown much faster than fumbling with standard hose clamps. Simple One-Person Operation Since the kit includes both the bridge tube for the cylinder and the fill tube for the helm, you can actually pump the fluid through the system by yourself. You just attach the bottle, crack the bleeders, and turn the wheel. It pushes the air out of the system and back into the bottle. It’s a very satisfying DIY project that saves you a few hundred bucks on a trip to the marine mechanic. The Honest Breakdown Pros: Completely leak-proof cap; transparent hoses for bubble spotting; heavy-duty brass construction. Cons: You have to be careful not to over-tighten the plastic cap onto the fluid bottle, or you might crack the threads. Just snug it up until the seal seats. Also, make sure your specific system uses the standard SeaStar/BayStar threads, as some very old systems might need a different adapter. Summary: Why it's a good value This bleed kit is a fantastic value because it turns a frustrating, messy maintenance chore into a 10-minute solo task. For the price of a few gallons of gas, you're getting a durable, reusable tool that ensures your steering is crisp and safe. It’s way better than the "homemade" hose setups that always end up leaking hydraulic fluid everywhere. The Bottom Line: My Final Take Whether I’m adding patriotic decals to the Sierra or maintenance gear like this Hydraulic Bleed Kit to the boat, I look for stuff that makes my life easier. This kit is a winner—it’s clean, it’s fast, and it works exactly like it should. Just like the braided cables or the 90-degree latch on my shed, it’s a quality find that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

This bleeder kit is easy to use and the brass fittings are very durable. The fitting that screws to the bottle fits well and is way better than the plastic screw cap that comes with other kits. Its a good value versus the Sea Star kit. I filled the hose with fluid before I bled my system and it did not leak. I did deduct one star due to having to tighten all the nuts on the fittings before using the kit.

I have tried a couple bleed kits and this is the best I have tried here are my observations on this kit 1. you get two tubes with brass fittings on the ends (see pic 1) which sets this apart from others that has plastic fittings. but really is nice is the fitting that goes on the helm, .not only do you get two brass fittings so you can find the one that fits your steering pump but the fittings are snap on and off type fitting that attach to the tube (see pic 2) this allows you to easily attach and remove the tube while attached to the power steering fluid bottle with out any spills really works great 2. all you do is attach the double sided tube to the fittings on the piston fittings on the motor (see pic 3) open up the nut on the piston fitting then go to the steering wheel pump install the fitting into the fill hole attach the tubing (see pic4) raise the power steering fluid above (see pic 5) and turn the steering wheel back and forth and watch the air bubbles raise up the tube (see pic 6) do this until no more bubbles are raising in the tube (see pic 7) then close the nuts on the motor side disconnect the fitting couplers then on the steering wheel side remove the fitting coupler then unscrew and remove the threated fitting and screw the fill cap back on and you are all done. very simple and no mess 3. now another great advantage if you set your fluid bottle back up with the tube still attached and hold the tube up straight and plug the NPT fitting back in the connector all the fluid in the tube will flow back into the bottle. then un hook the fitting on the bottle while still keeping the brass cap on the bottle you can then attach the other tube to the bottle and repeat the process as with the other tube and all the fluid will drain back into the bottle as well. very simple very easy and very clean I hardly had any drips at all over all: this is a good quality bleed kit that works great and well worth the price
