On the first heating up of the garment steamer, it may generate small volume smoke or smell. This is normal and is not dangerous.
In the first time using, if the garment steamer does not spray steam, please place the temperature regulator at the position"...", then put the steamer head vertically and press the steam release button continuously to spray steam. 
The brush accessory can be used for brushing away the dust, and the lint accessory can remove fluff. If you use the accessories with the soleplate, please place the temperature regulator at the position”..” to achieve best result, avoid the steamer damaging.
If you use the garment steamer at the temperature regulator “…” position, you’d better increase a cloth on your garment to avoid burnt out.
