STANLEY Hex Key Set, Folding Set, 8-Piece (STHT71800)

This metric allen key set is of a lot better quality than I was expecting. Yeah it's plastic, but it seems like you'll be able to put some pretty substantial torque on fasteners with this baby. I bought this thing to throw in my backpack when I'm riding my dirtbike; I wanted to have a nice range of allen keys on hand, all contained, just in case. That said, I'm not expecting to use it very often, which is why I'm giving it 5 stars. If you think you're going to use this thing as your main metric allen set, it might become a little cumbersome to spin fasteners quickly due to the size (width) of this tool. Because it has 8 different allen sizes, they have to make it pretty wide to accomodate the big 3 on the back (not shown in the picture). So it's not the perfect tool for daily use, but IS the perfect tool for the once in awhile jobs.

This is a really good quality bike tool. Is strong, and has all the sizes you could possibly need. I bought an elite and put it together myself using this tool. I really like the rubber on the sides of the tool because it makes it easy to hold and use. One thing that I thoug it could use would be a built in gear wrench so you don't have to buy that separate.

I have been a carpenter and builder for 20 years, and never seem to be able to find that one allen wrench I need when I need it. This product is great in the fact that it's not real huge and bulky, can easily be thrown into a toolbox or even your pocket. All of the wrenches are in one place which is very nice, and having them connected in this fashion seems better then like the big ring of janitor keys or some other fashion that might fall off or get in the way. I am kind of concerned about the plastic holding up to years of abuse, but the price for this set was not horrible by any means and the wrenches are still usable even if the plastic were to break. Wrenches like these are the one set of tools that you usually don't think about until you run into a bolt that needs one. So give it a shot! Every builder needs a set of these in their toolbox and getting one for a good price is always nice. And it was awesome to finally tighten that one loose bolt on my office chair.

I looked at several hex key options on Amazon, and I ended up making my purchase decision largely based on price alone. I wanted a cheap but good option because of how rarely I need hex keys. I wish I had paid just a bit more for a better set. These keys are durable enough. Even the smaller ones are likely to hold up under reasonable twisting force. But the actual length of the key itself is very easily bent if you don't twist the tool exactly perfect. The keys themselves are of awkward length, especially the smaller ones. They keys are attached to the tool, so you don't get a short end and a long end like you do with individual hex keys. As a result, sometimes the only length that you have just feels too long for the current job, and it's even easier to accidentally bend the keys slightly due to this. My biggest complaint about this tool is how huge and bulky the actual tool (which serves as a handle) is in practice. I am clearly inexperienced with hex keys, because I didn't realize I needed to be able to access tiny hex screws very close to a wall. The size of the handle makes this kind of work extremely difficult, if not impossible. For one thing, you can only approach such screws with the handle twisted a certain way, because the keys themselves loop around one end of the tool and as such have a "close" side and a "far" side when you hold the tool flush against the wall. Additionally, actually applying a twisting force on the tool when the screw is too close to the wall becomes extremely difficult because the tool itself gets in the way. You can't twist without hitting the wall! You have to get creative and do a partial twist and then flip the tool over, or you can only use about 1/10 of the full rotation of the tool before you have to pull it out of the screw and re-adjust for the next rotation. It is a hassle. The keys themselves can be removed from the rest of the tool, but you need a hex key to take the tool apart. So, the hex keys themselves do the job, but the tool itself literally gets in the way of its own function. If you are working primarily with large hex screws or screws that aren't very close to a wall, then you will probably be fine. But, for my case, I wish I had bought a set of individual hex keys, even if they would have cost more.

Delivery as very fast even combined. Quality product that I would normally buy. It serves for my bikes and for other things too. Tough product. I enjoyed buying, I'm very happy with the product. I have nothing to complain about.

The product was exactly as described and a great deal for the price paid. It is durable, portable, and extremely convenient to use for setting up furniture. I’m very happy with the size and how easy it is to pull out and retract each individual Allen wrench at a time. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning on doing work around the house.

Durable, affordable, and useful, this tool is very effective at doing what it is supposed to do, it is strong and arrived very quickly.

First up, to save anyone else the surprise, here's the sizes of hex keys included in this metric set: - The 8 metric metric sizes included are: 1.5mm; 2mm; 2.5mm; 3mm; 4mm; 5mm; 6mm and 8mm. This is just a good, cheap set of hex keys in swiss-army type format. Easy to store, light to carry around. Handy to have in the tool box or garage for when you need one. I picked a couple of these up purely as they were on sale $4 each so just good to have around for that price. Quality isn't amazing, the body of the tools is pretty cheap plastic, and the keys are secured and rotate on screws. The screws don't seem to stay done up for long with rotating the keys out. Also you can't do them up too tight - if you do, you won't be able to fold out a key. These are ok for light-duty jobs when you don't have proper hex keys around - due to how they're fitted into the plastic handle, you're going to break the handle apart if you go too gung ho tightening something. Good value for the price, but don't expect too much. As a homeowner or hobbyist, fine - anything more serious buy better.

Inexpensive Allen key set, here on Amazon for less than I paid for an identical one at a big box home improvement store. So I bought a second one, that I can keep in my car.
